Grossly inflated asset prices causing inflation such as in housing and energy. Americans spoiled by years of above average returns based on unprecedented expansion of credit and near zero interest rates for many years going back to 2008. Higher inflation leading to higher interest rates will make those gargantuan mortgages a bit more difficult to manage say at an 8 percent interest rate. Reality will catch up with the false economic recovery of the past 10 years or more.
