How could the Mad Donkey catch Geppetto?

Geppetto’s plan to bring back his son Carlo required an incredible amount of planning and foresight to put into action, let alone pull off.

Law Zero of the Grand Covenant, core to his plan, likely had to have been implemented long before Geppetto would even have a need for his plan, but it’s hard to say if that’s a result of being two steps ahead or a happy accident of being a control freak.

However, his plan should have been dashed on Alchemist Bridge by something he didn’t plan for: an obsessed man’s gut instinct. Lucky for him (and ironically Krat), he was saved by an interloper he couldn’t have foreseen: Sophia.

@zbrodie Did a fantastic write-up expanding a lot on some of the ideas in this video. It’s a very compelling theory and really well-written (with pictures and everything!)

The detail about the box leaving after beating the scrapped watchman is gobsmacking.

Great video! Love seeing some lore videos about Lies of P, I never noticed the detail about his murder box on the train where you wake up

I had posted a long comment here yesterday, not sure why I can't find it here now, maybe YouTube thought it was spam. I'll try to sum up what I said in it:

Mad Donkey's voice lines clearly indicate he recognizes P from before Sophia resets time. He seems to only have a fuzzy memory of it, jogged by seeing P. The other thing we know about Mad Donkey is that he has a strong belief that Geppetto caused the Puppet Frenzy. My theory is that in the original timeline of events, Geppetto is able to get to City Hall and retrieve the Core, before assembling the "Devil's Puppet" (as Mad Donkey calls him) to slaughter the remaining residents of Krat to harvest their Ergo, like in the Real Boy ending. Among these victims is likely Mad Donkey. Then, Sophia resets time as this is not an outcome she desires. This could've happened one time or many. Either way, Mad Donkey, upon seeing Geppetto on his way to City Hall, remembers the previous reset(s) and recognizing Geppetto for what he really is. He doesn't know all the details, only that Geppetto is the enemy, and to blame for the puppet frenzy. This is when the timeline shifts to Geppetto dying each time, before he can reach the core. Ultimately, this still isn't an outcome Sophia wants, leading her to reviving P herself and guiding him towards the endings we get in the game.

This explains both how Mad Donkey reaches the conclusion that Geppetto is the enemy, and his odd voice lines when interacting with P in the first and then in repeat fights.

Creat video. I played Lies of P more times than I want to admit, but I never caught Geppettos box in the train.

I would be interested in a general Geppetto-Video from you, now that the DLC adds a whole new sight in his Arc.
I am especially still confused about what the hell he thought when activating the puppet frenzy. Like, why did he do that for? How is this getting him closer to getting Carlo back? Or was it to fight off the Alchemists?
I would love to hear your thoughts on that, cause I found no satisfying answer, not even in Explained Videos.
