Donald Trump and Princess Diana met in 1995 at a charity dinner in New York. Diana immediately charmed him. Six months later, Donald sent the princess a bouquet of flowers on her 35th birthday. Then made a donation to one of the organisations that Diana supervised. The amount was such that the princess wrote him a letter thanking him. In response to the letter, and despite the fact that Trump was married to Marla Maples and Diana was still married to Charles, Donald sent flowers again with a note expressing his not-so-sincere sympathy for her divorce. Diana then began receiving expensive flowers on a regular basis, she began to fear that Donald was stalking her. She once expressed that Trump gave her "goosebumps." After Diane's death in 1997, Trump expressed "tremendous regret" that he didn't have an affair with her. And in his book, he wrote: "I couldn't help but notice the effect she had on people.She filled the whole room with her presence, her charm. She was a real princess - the lady of dreams."

We had 2 weddings over her mourning period. My father battled to get ANY flowers but eventually managed by flying some down for the functions. When he asked what was happening, he got told that the people of SA had asked for flowers to be Bought and sent to the gates of Buckingham place. Imagine a Boeing full of flowers for one person.. that what she meant to the people of South Africa.. we loved her eternally.

In 1995 she was 3 years separated from Prince Charles and divorced in 1996. It appears he was impressed with her and her charity work and wanted to be a supporter. I doubt Diana ever considered that he was stalking her.

I'm sure he's not the only person (any gender) who felt like he did about her. Even still after all the years since she passed, so many of us are still deeply moved by her beauty, generosity, and mysterious charisma. She was, and is, a phenomenon. I don't blame him feeling that way. An Englishman might not have expressed it at all, but DJT wasn't bound by the customs, and could financially afford to express his admiration however he liked.

DJ Trump was always surrounded by beautiful women and still is. However, princess Diana was an EXCEPTIONAL woman. Any man who was "in her league" would definitely try their best to have a shot at winning her. I don't blame him for trying! People seem to forgot that Trump wasn’t a politician back then in the 90s, he was a businessman so he contributed to both Democrats and Republicans. All of them were in the same clubs and their kids all went to the same schools. When the royals “ Diana and Charles “ started visiting 2 years after the wedding people were awed by them Especially young Diana, the fascination into her life after her separation and then divorce were headlines everywhere and a lot of Americans both in and out of politics wanted her to move to New York / USA, maybe cause they believed they could gain something or become more relevant with having a connection. She was the most popular young woman of her day and probably the most photographed person at the time
