Screw the engine issue. I’m not paying 70K for a vehicle.

Quality Control is a lost art. Companies skipping quality to save money, only to pay 10x the cost to fix defects. Soooo stupid

Chrysler Dodge Jeep have been making trash for 50 years, and people still buy them.
Brand Loyalty is nuts.

Zach you mentioned Toyota is not hurting due to this bad publicity, you are right. You would be amazed how many folks are still in the facebook groups and forums, knowing that newer engines are grenading themselves, yet they will still buy a new truck for $80, 000 with a known bad engine. It's bananas

Just a month ago I was about to trade in my 2019 Tundra for a 2024. Bullet dodged.

The law of diminishing returns is about to educate the auto industry.

I am suspect of any new Toyota. My 2022 Camry had a mapp sensor failure at highway speeds. Downshifted so violently it nearly left the highway. Faulkner Toyota said it was caused by a rodent chew. No evidence at all of wires chewed on. The only rodent under the hood of my Camry was the dealers technician. Excellent way for Toyota to deny component failures with their products. Cost me $300 to get my car back.

Toyota needs to get back to basics. Make RELIABLE and AFFORDABLE vehicles!

If I perform poorly at work, there’s no way in hell I would get a raise. This is Ludacris.

Been a Toyota family for 20 years - just traded in one and bought two new Subarus - far better value. Toyota should fire their executive team and everyone involved in inventory management. They just lost an entire family for the next decade since we keep our cars for a while.

This is why you don’t buy a model with a brand new engine until it’s been road tested a few years.

Regardless of the manufacture

FedEx, Southwest, and Boeing were once upon a time great companies. I hope that Toyota doesn’t follow.

I love toyota but they shot themselves on the foot. Poor build quality and higher and higher. Prices year after year it's not a surprise they're in hot water.

On my street with only 5 homes, there is one Highlander, one Prius, one Corolla, and two Rav4 Hybrids and one Rav4. If quality goes down, sales will too!, I buy for reliability; If no reliability, no me.

This is so disappointing. I've been driving Toyota for years. Still love mine, but it is very difficult to course-correct once quality starts declining.

It's all about trying to increase profits. A few days ago I rented a new Toyota Camry. It was so loud due to road noise, vibration, and who knows what, that I was going to return it if I needed to keep it for more than a day. I informed the rental car agent about the noise and he said it's a common complaint because to cut manufacturing costs, Toyota has stopped putting sound deadening insulation in the Camry (at least the base model). WTF? The car was so loud, especially on rough pavement, that it was unbearable. Toyota's new philosophy seems to be "cut costs, screw the customer". Very disappointing.

They’re sadly losing their way. Once an affordable and reliable brand, now overpriced and questionable construction. It’s no wonder a model like the Tundra is undesirable in a competitive class.

I'm a cash buyer, twice last year the local dealer in Columbia, MO blew me off like a bad habit. I ended up buying a Canyon. I'm in the market for a SUV this year and Toyota didn't even make the list.

On the plus side for Toyota, I have a 2010 Prius and last year they admitted a defect in the paint process and covered under warranty completely repainting my car. On the minus side, the process was a mess since we waited nine months to get the car in for the work, were told it would take 2 to 4 weeks and the dealer didn't have enough inventory to give us a loaner, it actually took eight weeks and when I went to pick the car up, they handed me the key fob and told me to go look for the car with it probably being out the door and to the right. Despite there being almost no new cars on the lot and tons of open spaces, I had to go halfway around the dealership to find the car parked in the back (good thing I was on a bicycle). We haven't bought anything other than Toyotas in the last 30 years and my next car will probably be a plug-in hybrid. I really am hoping I can find a good non-Toyota plug-in hybrid that meets my needs but right now the two best ones are still the Prius and Rav4 primes. Inventory of Prius Primes within 100 miles of my house (Chicagoland so lots of dealers) consists of one new car in transit and five used ones with the dealership asking for more than the original MSRP for a four year old car.
