5:54 "I wanna say Wales..." "It's very close, it's Hong Kong."

It has taken me until this video to realise Katelyn and Evan are in front of a green screen. I am very smart I swear

The notes at the end here are a bit off.

(Spoiler)

"Redwood" is Virgin America (now defunct, purchased by Alaska Airlines), not Virgin Atlantic (which is simply "Virgin". Same branding but different entities, though Branson was a minority owner in this one too. There's also Virgin Australia, whose radio callsign is "Velocity".

And yes, as others have mentioned, Air China (flag carrier of China) and China Airlines (flag carrier of Taiwan) are two separate entities, and Air China's callsign is the simple "Air China".

Yes!! Finally one I knew before he even finished asking the question.

I'm not surprised that Other Tom knows this.

I love being able to sit back smugly knowing the answer. An extremely rare occurrence.

I think the right answer is Ruth is a spymaster for MI 8. Redwood, Dragon, Springbok, Dynasty and Shamrock are some of the spies she handles. (sarcasm, in case it wasn't clear)

Just to be clear, Air China and China Airlines are 2 different companies. Air China is the flag carrier of China and their call sign is pretty boring. It’s just Air China. China Airlines is the flag carrier of Taiwan and their call sign is Dynasty.

Norwegian is Rednose. They changed it a while ago and caused quite a bit of confusion with ATCs worldwide.

Correction: Virgin America’s call sign was Redwood and was based in California. You said Virgin Atlantic which is based in the UK and its call sign is Virgin.

It hit me the same time as Tom (that is 'other Tom', meaing the first Tom... so, early on). I'll avoid spoilers, and say the two names that got some early discussion from Tom (other other Tom) kinda hit me from the start. Still super fun, as my brain clicked from some weird distant depths as opposed to drawing from concrete knowledge. I had no clue about the last three clarified at the end tbh, that was neat to learn.

My guess was 'Audiologist' because there's a lot of clearly pronouncing unusual words there when testing hearing. I'm pretty sure one or two of those are ones I've heard when being tested.

Finally one I knew from the start.
Missed speedbird, rednose, brickyard and Virgin though.

I wonder what Finnair's is. Tom knows about airfields in Finland, he might know, right?

I'm such an aviation nerd that I had it as soon as the question got to Springbok....

I'm happy to have no idea about this one about 2 minutes in.

This year, YouTube keeps recommending, to me, recordings of [the answer to this question], and I have never heard these words. But I keep watching them.... 😯

And a missed opportunity to mention "Speedbird" is British Airways.
