I actually enjoy unmelted cheese on a taco. The contrast between cold cheese and hot filling is nice imo.

Tito’s is an institution here in L.A, but you have to not mind standing in a long line for hard shell shredded beef tacos and don’t mind paying extra for cheese and don’t mind the mild salsa. Personally I love those things lol, and I drink the salsa straight up.
I also venture over to Johnnie’s Pastrami across the parking lot, another local long time institution.

Just came across your channel, and as a 48 year veteran of the foodservice business, I totally have enjoyed my marathon of your videos. I sold my BBQ restaurant right before covid and run a food trailer in my semi retirement. I love the honest reviews, but have one suggestion. When something is bad please tell the owner or manager on the spot, if they are serious about their food they will understand your concerns. If they blow you off, then the place is a definite no go. I do give places 2nd chances....lol.
Keep up the great videos.

My parents used to frequent this place in the 60’s it was where you went at night to grab a bite. They recently went back after moving away from Culver City for over 30 years. Moms said it was the same and reminded her of years back. The lines were always the same way from start to close. My dad was just happy to have a taco but still loves that place. This is a Culver City staple for the OG’s. Glad you got to try it for yourself.

Having grown up in Culver City, I know first hand the experience and the lines. It's been years since I was there, but they have been around for nearly 65 years, so people DO enjoy it. A lot! The taco you ate looks exactly how they've always served them since I was just a kid. They are not "authentic" street style tacos, and never have claimed to be, but they are authentic Culver City tacos, and they are a Los Angeles County staple! You don't stay open that long for no reason. The food is bomb. The burrito to get is the all meat burrito, by the way, or would at least be my suggestion. Tito's is world famous.

You missed out on a chance to go near the hood spot and try El Abajeno, though. It they're still open then I would definitely recommend trying them out next time your on the West (best) Coast! Go for the burritos there, or try several items. It's actually right near the projects not far from where you filmed this. If you go to the East Side try out El Tepeyec, and if you go to the DTLA area, definitely hit up the taqueria called La Naranja (if still opened). Obviously King Taco in the DTLA location, also.

Glad you stepped to a place I know of firsthand. Safe travels, Daym, and God bless!

As for the unmelted cheese on the taco, some people like it that way. I know I do.

you always have a lot to say about a place. Good or bad. That is awesome and you don't come off as rude at all. That is greatly appreciated. Keep showing people how it's done

I think a large majority of the one stars are from ppl who remember the old days of what it “used to be like”, particularly the prices.
The owners have changed over time but for me this place is always going to be nostalgia since I used to come here with my mom as a kid when we would bus it around Culver City. Yea the prices could be better but Tito’s for me will always hit.

Daym ... Would love to see you review some of the celebrity owned restaurants in Vegas! Guy Fieri, Gordon Ramsay, Wahlburgers etc. I've seen complaints on other channels but when you check their personal reviews ... they all seem positive! For us 'po' folks, wanting to spend extra bucks for a great eating experience, I'd like an HONEST opinion that hasn't been deleted by the review Admins!! 👍❤️😁

It makes me wonder, as an L.A. native, how can people get it so wrong. My guess those people didn't like the owners specifically and used that to determine their 'review'. This would have been one of the LAST places I'd ever call the worst.

Ι found you recently and I'm binging your videos! What makes the big difference between your food critic channel and many others, is the fact you are a good-hearted man, trying to find the best in the worst, so I know you are honest when you actually find a really terrible restaurant! Great job my friend, I welcome myself to the family, I'll be a member from now on! Cheers!

My 2cents: it looks good imo and with that many people queuing up they can’t all be wrong. I’m kind of impressed with the size of that burrito.

The taco shell is made in-house by the looks of it. The chips are definitely made in-house which means the taco shell is as I stated. Even the burrito shell is looking house-made. That is a great sign for the restaurant.

The only thing better than a Tito’s Taco, is two! It is definitely a right of passage to stand in that line. So glad that you took the time to come to SoCal and enjoy some Tito’s. 💕 There really isn’t a chance for anything to get stale because it’s always so busy there.

I’m an LA native and used to frequent Tito’s for over 20 years. Understand Tito’s is like an In-N-Out of Mexican food. Simple menu and they stay in their lane. Their beef is there signature. Never had a problem and it’s always crowded and hard to park in that area, so get there early if you have no patience.

If you’ve been in LA for a while you’ll know Tito’s is the spot for mis tier tacos. It used to be cheaper which made it more worth it but with inflation it looks like they have raised their price heavily. The johnnys pastramis right next door is a hidden gem too.

Titos is L.A. legendary. The bad reviews are always from out-of-towners.

There is a reason why Titos have been around since the 60's.Local folks are hard core fans. Usually transplants into LA are the ones that don't like Titos. My favorite is the Beef/bean/cheese burrito. The lines are famously long, always. Give yourself plenty of time for ordering and pick up. The downside is yes, the prices have gone up.

I lived in so cal almost a decade, one of the first things I noticed was how quality most of the food places are. There’s so many people there to compete for their dollar you have to go over the top to keep them coming back!
