@POFerriesUK Pride of Kent made her last EVER sailing from Calais France to @PortofDover on Sunday 4th June 2023. @A2BviaSeaonTV was aboard!

Departing at 1505 she made a slow turn off her berth within the old port with a long solum blast of her ships' horn.

Departing from the new port was the #poferries P&O Pioneer which had arrived from #dunkerque on her inaugural voyage earlier that day and was undertaking berthing trials.

Sailing out of #calais simultaneously we followed each other along #frenchcoast before the new #flagship turned to starboard and gave Pride of Kent a final salute.

Upon arrival in #dover #uk all passengers were offloaded before Pride of Kent sailed empty to the former Cargo Terminal at the Eastern Docks to lay up.

The aim of this video is to create a tribute to the Pride of Kent, a legacy so future generations can [virtually] come aboard from the comfort of their own home.

That was my office for 10 years of my life. Met nearly all of my friends on the Kent. Absolutly adored the crew on that ship. I knew this day would come but after last year im not bothered.

Worked on her after P&O scrapped the Boulogne route. Though I liked my crewmates I hated the ship and the working routine. Much preferred the routine on the Pride of Hythe in the Boulogne days. Was very little in the video that I could relate to, but my sincere thanks for the upload

I remember travelling onboard her just after the conversion, I could still smell the fresh paint! Sad to see her go

Excellent video. You are right, she doesn’t look as if she should be scrapped. Car decks looked clean and tidy and stairwells as well. Maybe she needs some spending on engines, but then she would be a reliable workhorse for a few years at a good price. If could have both and have consistency of service, then get rid of Inishturk and Innisfree to Pembroke or Stena Spirit. Great work mate once again. You are filming history!

Calling the former cafeteria Food Market when it is a grab and go is a bit cheeky. What food? What market? Everything prepacked. I would also stock up before going on any IF ferry, extortionate prices. Stena food on Irish Sea is not great, but it is reasonably fairly priced. DFDS also provides far better dining options.

Right now, she's off Cape Finisterre on her way to the beach in Aliaga, Turkey.

What have they done with the old commercial drivers' lounge (starboard side, aft end of Food Court), and the former Brasserie?

So bizarre seeing a P&O ship so empty in the day time. They use to be rammed with passengers most of the year. Now living in Belgium I take Dunkirk to Dover to save on fuel so it’s DFDS for me, I use to pay more and use P&O to have British crews and enjoy the Spirit Class ships but crossing the channel up to 6 times a year on return trips I won’t return to P&O

Overall, Kent looked good _ but where are the crew?

Me and my family travelled back to Dover on her about a month ago we've been on her several times in the past years sad to see her go a end of a era.

I don't like her replacement though it looks awful at least the pride of Kent looks like a ship.

Looked better than Spirit of France, although do see many seats cheaply upholstered . Again, Grab and go looks awful. Why bother, stop at Tesco Whitfield and stock up, cheaper and more choice. Why sail across if you can cruise across - well they’ve forgotten that slogan! I have to be honest, if I was crossing Dover Calais, then Grab and go would influence me very heavily not to choose P and O. Makes it look uncaring and cold, and no crew members around either.

Looks like it has been running with the bare minimum of staff and everything looks like self service now.

Not like the old days in Dover full of British merchant men and women working these routes. Sad
