I wonder if putting the heat activated cards in the refrig, the text would disappear quicker?

I’m adapting this for my kids. They love Outfoxed (so much in fact that several of the pieces are missing 😂) and I can see easily making this a cooler version of Outfoxed. It would not be hard to house rule at all by making the die rolls “up to” and by making the game cooperative instead of competitive.

How else can you move without the dice though? Just wondering. I'm not a fan either. But i am a fan of house rules, which we will be using it by changing the rules. Thanks for your review. :)

Apart from the thermal cards it is an exact replica of 'the Mysteries of Peking' from 1987 without any advancement in rules or mechanism but prettier images and thankfully without the causal racism of its predecessor. Even the board is laid out exactly the same way.

Are the instructions in the box? I can't seem to find them?🤔

I agree that rolling a die for movement can kill a game. It works okay for games like talisman where it is more about sending you to a new random event than moving around the board.

I don't necessarily have a problem with roll & move, per se, but it really only works when movement is a minor part of the game. For example, _Dragonscales_ has a move "up to" your roll rule, but it would work just as well with an "exact" movement rule, because movement is such a small part of the game and of your tactics. But in a game like this, where it's essentially a race game, roll and move is just lucky, and I agree that's enough to make a game unplayable.

Completely agree. My kids love this game… but not because of how the game actually plays. They love the components and the deduction. I winged some rules and they work for us. The actual gameplay wouldn’t be enjoyable for them.

Yeah, Stop Thief is very much Clue/Cluedo killer, and any other deduction games with roll and move mechanism.
