Helpless: Hamilton the Musical

Helpless from the Broadway hit musical, Hamilton. This song is about the romance and wedding of Eliza Schuyler and Alexander Hamilton. Eliza's sister, Angelica, introduces Hamilton to Eliza during a ball. They immediately start writing each other and Hamilton wastes no time in asking Eliza's father Philip Schuyler for his permission to marry his daughter. Hamilton shares with Eliza his concerns about being an orphan with no wealth or station in life. Eliza dismisses his concerns and the song ends on the notes of their wedding.

For anyone who says anything against or criticizes this video…. Working With Lemons is a family production channel where they do their best to make their videos as accurate as they can, they don’t have everything perfect and that’s ok, I mean if they had thousands of people to choice from and tons of money then things could be different but what you see is what you get and I support there work as it is truly spot on in that case!

In realistic terms (as in who and what the musical is based off of) Peggy is actually supposed to be a child who passes due to an illness sometime around the ending of the first act so technically she’s not even supposed to be here in the actual historical plot point of the “film”, meaning that the whole “harem” is not being said towards Peggy but only towards Angelica & Eliza…so the fact that they did have her in this video was actually really appreciated in my stand point because she has such a sweet character that we want to see more of!

So hey this is amazing, don’t judge just enjoy what we have! 💜

I must confess, I had watched all of these Hamilton videos before I ever listened to the OBC. Until it came out on Disney+, I didn’t “get” it. I didn’t know the story; I didn’t know listening to the album straight through would give me the whole story. Of course, now I am obsessed with the show, especially Phillipa Soo as Eliza (oh my god, perfection), but I think it’s funny that Working with Lemons is the only background I had before watching the pro-shot.
