Nvidia Stock: Insider Selling & Pump Before a Dump? Analyst Says $155, But is it Realistic? (Short Thesis)

Description: Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang just sold $31 million of his own stock, following $280 million more sold by other insiders in June alone. This comes despite a recent upgrade from a Wells Fargo analyst who bumped the price target to $155. Is this analyst upgrade just a pump to inflate the stock before a major dump by insiders? We discuss the recent insider selling, the analyst upgrade, and why Nvidia might be overvalued compared to Apple. We also reveal our own short thesis target price for Nvidia stock.

He has a net worth of 119 billion, and he sold 31 million which is 0.026% of his net worth. Now admittedly, he might’ve sold because he could think it is too high or volatility wouldn’t make a loan backed by his shares viable, but he would need to dump much more if it was a pump and dump.

Random newbie question? Have you ever seen stocks dumped on earnings when the new target value is actually higher than before just to buy up more assets and get a bigger position for the big players. Thanks also maybe I missed it, is there a discord you offer? Definitely interested in your educational material.

Why are you trying to convince people to join your way of thinking? If you have a plan and you think you are right then do whatever you want to do.

This is a very silly take. People sell a stock for all kinds of reasons. Sell signals are not valuable on their own. For all we know he needs to pay some taxes...

Ignore sell signals. They're useless.

But remember, people only ever buy for one reason.

You were a bear before the split..it went up....you were a bear at $120..it's at $135 now lol. Of course it's going to pullback nothing goes up forever. Just admit you're wrong ser.

So he sold .003% of his shares. Thats pump.and dump?? Most of his net worth is tied up in Nvidia stock, so it makes sense that he slowly sells some if it goes up. I feel really strong sbout nvidia but i also sold a tiny bit bc it became too much of my portfolio... Even if I felt there's only one in a million chance that it goes down, I'd still have to sell a little, you've alreddy made it. Why have all your money in one spot. Any financial advisor would be screaming at him to sell a little no matter how confident he was in it.

It’s not a v good argument though.

Selling stock only means it’s overvalue but it’s not fraudulent like pump and dump.

Price to earnings for tech companies often inflated and cannot be easily justified with traditional valuation or metrics given they are more like “long call in innovation & growth potential”

Hope it doesn't get to Tesla levels of PE insanity or it will get painful for ya. Balsy play.

Insiders cashing out when the stock has run 100’s of percent over the past 3 years makes sense. Could be large donations, purchases, estate planning, or options executions. NVDA does have a high PE but revenue growth is insane and until they flop a quarter or really slows it will continue to ride high.

These are automatic sales based on a trading plan. He didn't personally sell shares.

Trying to short stocks with such momentum is so dumb

Why jump in front of a freight train of momentum when it is still at top speed?

Dumb. He “dumped” pennies worth of stock. Probably to buy a 5th home or a private jet or something.

Did you mean that your break even is $105? Not target. Target should be lower, you also have to profit from the short.
