Crispy, spicy tofu. Arguably this tofu is the most popular recipe from the BOSH! Cookbook! Our crispy chilli tofu is spicy, tangy, crunchy and 100% vegan.

This chilli tofu is one of our favourite Chinese takeaway dishes. It’s spicy, full of umami flavour, sticky, gooey and incredibly moreish. Often when you buy this kind of dish it’s filled with MSG, but ours is much healthier, with a base of orange juice and sweet chilli sauce adding the main sweet tang. Service with rice and top with spring onions for the ultimate dish!

We've had loads of people say they aren't usually fans of tofu but loved this crispy, spicy tofu. If you're one of those people, give this tofu a try, you might be surprised!

You can serve this with rice, noodles or as part of a salad. Options are endless with this chilli tofu! Would be great as a meal prep option as well, it's delicious hot or cold.

I had to see what everyone was raving about so I decided to take the plunge and make this for last night dinner and we loved it, my husband is a meat eater and he said it was one of the best meals he had had, easy to make too, thank you

Hi, I make this recipe all the time but I have a problem with it.
I fry the tofu, and it goes nice and crispy, which is great.
I make the sauce, which goes well.
But when I put the tofu in the sauce, it loses its crispiness and goes soft.
Am I doing this wrong or is it supposed to lose the crispy sense?

I made this tonight and it was probably the worst thing I've ever made. I think my lemons were too big, so my juice of two lemons was more like 4 lemons. It was inedible. But the tofu texture was great...will have to try cooking the tofu that way again minus the sauce bit!
