The National Enforcement investigations Center (NEIC) is an accredited environmental forensics center serving EPA’s enforcement programs. NEIC has a unique role in supporting complex criminal and civil enforcement investigations that demand the application of state-of-the-art scientific and technical capabilities to analyze evidence with the high degree of defensibility needed in formal enforcement actions. NEIC’s expert forensics staff provide a wide range of support for EPA Inspectors and Special Agents, including field sampling, engineering evaluations, forensic laboratory analysis, and expert witness services in the courtroom.
