The Kardashev Scale | Type 4 Civilization

Last time, we talked about a type 3 civilization which was initially the last level on the original Kardashev Scale. But astronomers have since extended the scale to include civilizations far superior to a type 3. So today we are going to be looking at a type 4 civilization!

Kardashev believed that a Type 4 civilization may be too advanced and way beyond us to talk about in any meaningful way. So he didn't go beyond Type III on his scale. He thought that, surely, a type 3 would be the extent of any species’ ability. But this didn't stop other astronomers to wonder and expand upon his original scale. They theorized a type 4 civilization and beyond describing many distinctive features of each. So then, what is a type 4 civilization?

A type 4 civilization is sometimes referred to as a universal civilization since it spans an entire universe. It would be capable of extracting energy from its entire universe. This civilization would be able to travel throughout the universe and consume the energy output of several, and possibly all galaxies. This means that nothing in the entire universe would be a mystery to a type 4 civilization and everything would be mapped out. All alien life would also be known and mapped out. Galaxies would be like towns and cities to this civilization and moving between them would be like a normal car ride from one city to the next. Traveling faster than light using futuristic technology we cannot even imagine would be the norm for residents of this civilization. They may even open wormholes, live inside supermassive black holes, and manipulate the very fabric of space-time itself granting them access to things that we can barely even imagine.

Time travel aside… Sometimes I ponder about extraterrestrials having visited Earth as far back as the age of dinosaurs. This would mean that there’s a chance that they captured video from their visits back then, and kept them archived.
If so, this would give us the opportunity to see a video of actual dinosaurs.

Humans will probably become "immortal" much sooner than this imo. I'm thinking like type 1 or 2 civilizations will have advanced enough tech to keep humans young and alive indefinitely. Maybe at type 4 tech would be so advanced that a corporeal being would be obsolete and they truly become immortal, as to not being capable of dying in any matter. That's scary.

if you are already a robot by type 4 you wouldn't think about immortality i suppose. like a cyberverse akin to the ghost in the shell just further in the future. also i just realized that marvel is exploring the kardashev scale lol

Imo, I don’t think it’s possible at all to explore the multiverse. If there are infinite universes, then an infinite number of civilizations would already be able to travel the multiverse (if it were possible). We would know about them cause we’d see them already.

Honestly if there were any Civilization type 4 out there we should have ever feel it or distinguish some impact, event or evidence of their existence in the known Universe, such a thing like that would have outstanding power to behold from far away it´s too obvious!. Hence I can conclude there is NO any Type 4, not even type 3 in the known Universe at least, so far!
