Many thanks for sharing Mags, a great update, I love hostas but always shied away from them because of slugs, your garden looks beautiful. It has that organised rustic cottage garden look, sooo lovely, I found toilet tissue better for chitting because it naturally breaks up and the roots don’t get stuck, (love the pond), kind regards

I find that a saucer wider than the pot base always full of water the best barrier. On Gardeners World, they visited a garden show and the hostas expert said to use frying pans as a saucer. That any metal deters s&s. I’ll be hunting the charity shops lol. I don’t group unless raised off the ground and keep them clear of walls. I have Clevers (sticky Willy) too pulling all the time. Never used nematodes. I have frogs that seem to keep on top of slugs but snails 🐌 I have no real control for. I only have five Hostas, they’re old and I’m protective of them, having fewer it’s easier to control. Your collection is gorgeous and it looks like what your are doing is working well. Agree I don’t kill anything. Interesting video. Lots of patients with the hosta seeds.

You have so many pretty hostas, Mags. I want some hostas by my little pond. Maybe I will sow some from seed next year, this year it is maybe to late??.
All the best.
