I'm a brainlet and when I played Nabbit in coop I thought his whole deal was that he was able to store an extra power-up in his lil bag, but then I found out that's just something everyone can do when playing coop. It'd be cool for that to be his actual gimmick though, to store things in his bag he can later-on use to help himself or allies.

I like nabbit. He's kinda the most unique thing to come from mario in that era lol, I would argue he makes the mario universe actually feel more like an actual world with unique people with goals
As for his mask, I like to think that the design on his mask is some kinda symbol from the mario universe's pop culture, Bowser Jr couldn't get one so he decided to draw his own lmao
