This outdoor kegerator was not cooling properly. The kegerator had ice on the back wall, or evaporator cover. Ice on the evaporator comes from many sources, but all deal with humidity. The 2 main ones are that 1) the door was left ajar allowing warm, wet air to accumulate, or 2) there is a gap at the dispenser allowing air to enter the refrigerator. Other issues include evaporator defrost problems, but that is not covered in this video.

In this case, the frost buildup on the evaporator had to do with an installation error. We will walk through how to correct this issue, which is definitely a DIY project you can do on a kegerator.

Thanks for watching!

What does it mean if my kegerator stopped cooling altogether? I had ice in the back of my kegerator like yours did and I didn't defrost it. A few weeks later it stopped cooling.

Do the screws for the tap go through the granite and right to the kegerator? I’m curious to how to screw my tap in.

Insulate the tower as well. Every pour is foamy if you don't.
