Step By Step Instructions To Hem & Shorten Pants Yourself Without Paying For A Tailor!

Hey guys!

I hope you are doing well!

As someone who is slightly under 5'0", almost every pair of pants I buy are too long on me. In order for my pants to fit properly, I need to get them tailored. Growing up, I was lucky both my parents were tailors so I was able to ask them for help altering my clothes. However, now that I live in a different state, I have to either pay a professional tailor to fix my clothes for me or tailor my clothes myself.

I have been slowly learning how to sew and am really enjoying the ability to fix my own clothes and not have to outsource simple projects like hemming pants.

In this video, I want to share with you how I hem my own pants at home. This tutorial is for pants that don't have unique original hems. This works great for dress pants since the hems are very clean on those type of pants. This doesn't work as well for jeans which normally has distressed original hems, in which case it is more ideal to try to keep the look of the original hem. I will share how to hem pants with original hems in a separate video.

Hack- use curtain tape and an iron. No sewing
