First dates are awkward. First dates with a new culture even more so. But what faux pas should you avoid while on a date with a French woman? Keep in mind that we want you to be your true selves on dates (blunders, slip ups make for the funniest/most genuine moments) but these points might just help you out next time to avoid a horrible date fail.

Imagine how INFURIATING these stereotypes are when they're thrown at you and YOU ARE FROM SWITZERLAND (the french-speaking part) (or Belgium, for that matter, I know they get it a lot too). All the freaking time.
People : language and country are two very, very different things. Also usually little countries/regions DO NOT LIKE being mishmashed/confused with their big neighbourgh. Just don't do that. Very rude.

I would say that being ignorant, culturally insensitive or rightout rude will be off-putting to anyone, no matter where they are from. For instance, I'm Dutch and I would be annoyed if my date would keep on going about how fantastic Amsterdam is, while I'm not from there. Of assume that we all smoke weed. Making fun of any accent is not very nice. The ketchup tip is handy, though.

Well as a French who visited others towns than Paris... well it's rare to meet people NOT liking wine. Unless muslim in public and safe drivers I guess
