Lyrics

Can I believe you?
Can I believe you?
Can I
Ever know your mind?
Am I handing you mine?
Do we both confide?

I see it eat through every word I sow
See what you need to, do you doubt it’s yours
Now I’m learning the ropes
Never get this close
I’ve been wounded before
Hasn’t let me go

Can I believe you when you say I’m good?
I didn’t need to when I wished you would
No it isn’t enough
Never held that much
Now another way up
Been a row too rough

It never got less strange, showing anyone just a bare face
If I don’t, well, nothing will change
Staying under my weather all day

Lately I’m wondering too
What type of desire I can break
When I’m one way with them, one with you
What half is it of me rearranged?

Can I believe you?
Can I believe you?
I want to need you
I want to need you
Can I believe you?
Can I believe you?

This woman’s dancing is absolutely phenomenal. It is so relaxing to watch, really takes me to another place and it goes brilliantly with the song!

This is the first song I played our little baby girl, Miriam, in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit after she was born two months premature. She pulled a face I had yet to see her pull, and it was love. I am so grateful for this band. I am so grateful for this song. Thank you Fleet Foxes.

My girlfriend suffers anxiety and depression, and this song really helped me understand her better. What she goes through in her head on a daily basis; walls she's built; the difficulty she has trusting others; her struggle to accept my love and affection. We're in a really good place now, but it's taken real patience and understanding

To me, this song and video are vivid portraits of living with and recovering from PTSD following domestic abuse. May all find healing, may all be well.

This album is the spark of hope that 2020 needed. Seriously.

I can still remember driving over the Blue Ridge listening to Blue Ridge Mountains for the first time. They've just gotten better and better over the years.

What I love about the Fleet Foxes is they keep giving me what I want, beautiful, harmonic, soulful sounds to chill out and dream to. Love their sound, don't ever change.

The dance helped me realize that someday I'll be nostalgic for today, it's unique blend of perception, longing, and solitude. Quarantine has its consolations.

Why such a brilliant song doesn't receive more airtime is beyond me. Fleet Foxes are a terrific band and this really is a first-rate masterpiece. Love every second of it.

Why does this song inspire obsession. This is like the 30th time I've listened to this today. And it doesn't get old.

OH MY GOD! 3:13 where she hits the wall is so perfect! The colors, her movements, they work so amazingly with the music! What a beautiful music video <3

This album finally confirmed what I've been saying since HB. Robin is one of the best songwriters of our times. Constantly evolving yet somehow still having a very distinct sound.
