Why Octopus has 3 hearts?

The three hearts of an octopus work together to efficiently circulate blood throughout its body. Two of the hearts, called the branchial hearts, pump blood through the gills, where it picks up oxygen. The third heart, called the systemic heart, pumps the oxygenated blood to the rest of the body.

One interesting thing about the octopus's circulatory system is that the systemic heart stops beating when the octopus is swimming. Instead, the octopus uses its muscles to propel itself through the water. This is because swimming requires a lot of energy, and the octopus needs to conserve as much oxygen as possible.

Octopuses are fascinating creatures, and their three hearts are just one of the many things that make them unique.
