Audi Electric Life: Getting Charged Up

The Electric Life series takes a look at Audi's new e-tron electric vehicle technology now hitting American roads with Audi's "e-Pilots." These are people who have each been given an Audi A3 e-tron to live with for several months. Each film takes an up-close look at their first-hand experiences having an Audi plug-in vehicle to use every day.

In our first film we visit e-Pilot Ti Chan as she waves goodbye to the gas station when electricians install a home charger in her garage. Then she shows off her "new ride" to her mom.

FACTS are the it depends on where the electricity comes from. electricity from dirty sources such as coal, electric car will produce equivalent pollution as an ICE of about 40 MPG, not including pollution at the refineries. Electricity from clean renewable sources, it procedures the equivalent pollution of an ICE vehicle getting 130 MPG. Clean renewable sources is key.
BTW, the ICE is under 20% efficient. Electric drivetrains are 80% + efficient and the technology is just getting started !

That question has been wandering around YouTube since 2008! That joke of an argument needs to be retired. If you think charging cars is bad, then consider the journey and energy spent to just make diesel and petrol. On top of that, electric cars can run completely on infinite renewable power. ICEs have no other option than oil, which will run out soon.
