The parent layout's ability to apportion space to its child views is referred to as the "property of allocation." By default, views possess a priority value of 0, leading to an equal distribution of space among sibling views. However, elevating the priority level of a view's layout can prompt it to contract later when the group shrinks and expand earlier when the group expands, thus reinforcing its high priority status.
