Here goes a free translation (portuguese and english) of the song... hope you enjoy it more... and I want to explain that, in the final prensentation, he is using Osiris mask (an egiption god related to dead souls) and the fingerclaw is the arrow... at the end you will find the meaning of the song for me...

Telemóveis by Conan Osiris
Cellphones by Conan Osiris

Eu parti o telemóvel
I broke my cellphone
A tentar ligar para o céu
Trying to call up to heaven
Pa' saber se eu mato a saudade
To find out if I kill the longing/missing (saudade)
Ou quem morre sou eu
Or if I'm the one who dies

E quem mata quem
And who kills whom?
Quem mata quem mata
Who is killing whom?
Quem mata quem
Will it kill?

Nem eu sei
Not even I know
Quando eu souber
When I find out
Eu não ligo a mais ninguém
I won't call another soul

E se a vida ligar
If life calls you up
Se a vida mandar mensagem
If life sends you a message
Se ela não parar
If it doesn't stop

E tu não tiveres coragem de atender
And you don't have the courage to pick up
Tu já sabes o que é que vai acontecer
You already know what is going to happen

Eu vou descer a minha escada
I’ll go downstairs
Vou estragar o telemóvel
And I’ll wreck my cellphone
O telele
The ol'celly

Eu vou partir o telemóvel
I'll break the cellphone
O teu e o meu
Both yours and mine
E eu vou estragar o telemóvel
And I'll wreck my phone
Eu quero viver e escangalhar o telemóvel
I want to live and obliterate my cellphone

E se eu partir o telemóvel
And if I break my cellphone
Eu só parto aquilo que é meu
I'll only break what’s mine
Tou para ver se a saudade morre
I have yet to see if my longing/missing (saudade) will die
Vai na volta, quem morre sou eu
Or if it turns out I'm the one who dies

E quem mata quem mata
And who kills who
Eu nem sei
I don't even know
A chibaria nunca viu nascer ninguém
The snitches have never seen anyone be born

Eu partia telemóveis
I used to break cellphones
Mas eu nunca mais parto o meu
But I will never break mine anymore

Eu sei que a saudade tá morta
I know that the longing/missing (saudade) is dead

Quem mandou a flecha fui eu
The one who shot the arrow was me
Quem mandou a flecha fui eu
The one who shot the arrow
Fui eu
Was me

The title is cellphones... Nowadays, everyone has a cellphone and can't live without it because it connects with the people and the world... it is almost a bionic heart (TRY NOW TO SWITCH IN THE SONG THE WORD CELLPHONES FOR THE WORD HEART - how does it sounds to you??)... The cellphone has a vital power in our life... So, Conan Osiris gave to the cellphone an extra power... to call to heaven in order to kill the longing/ missing (saudade) of a soul that passed away. Therefore you see a dichotomy if he will kill the longing/ missing (saudade) or will the longing/ missing (saudade) kill him. And he doesn't have the courage to pick up the life, because he's suffering and he wants to die with the pain inside him... But then he decides to go downstairs and live and wreck the cellphone... both his and cellphone's soul. Then, in the end he decides to keep the cellphone because he shot an arrow to the longing/ missing (saudade) and continues with his life (or not).

Besides this message, how many of us lost a relative... the love one... a friend... in a war... with cancer... in an accident... whatever... and decided to wreck the phone because the pain was unbearable? Or you didn't want to listen that news by cellphone? Or even did you never wished to have a special cellphone to listen for the last time the voice of a person who passed away???

The word 'Telemóveis' can be seen/interpreted as a word for 'Hearts'.
Conan Osíris is the composer and interpreter of ' Telemóveis' and will perform in the 1st Semi-Final in the 'Festival da Canção 2019' on February 16th.

I 'broke my phone', from pressing the replay button.

Phone is a metaphor with multiple possible interpretations and some words ( as saudade or chibaria for ex.) can not be literally translated...

As a Portuguese I say from the bottom of my heart, like or dislike I have never seen anything like it on a stage of Eurovison as this I musically I managed to be as deck as one achieves a FAO of elements of the musical orient with a Portuguese fado in the voice and the sadness of Flemish Andalusian, from a scattered sonority of the east with Afro beats and trap... Musically an unusual little-seen style and a strange originality that then plaits itself

Esta letra é complicada demais por parecer simples, metáfora. sátira. Nem todos compreendem!

There is 1001 way to translate a valid and genuine context to this song, and put everything with a genius that comes only to minds open to the first and will be affirming gradually to those who open it later, mobile can be heart, cell phones can be hearts, a vent of someone who is not already among us that we miss, today the phone is our life we have everything there, we often want to leave because we do not receive messages from someone we want

This song simply won't get out of my head.

This song is too sophisticated for the ESC...

I don't think you can translate that easily words like "saudade" or "chibaria" and other expressions he uses on the song. He uses a lot of slang and idiomatic expressions in his work, so it's very hard to understand the real meaning without any context. You really lose the beauty of it.

What's the use of translating a golden SOUL?

Suggestion for translating 'chibaria', maybe use the word 'snitchery' or 'snithers' :P

Ao vivo tem que manter esta maravilhosa versão (vocal). É top; se não ganha, esqueço o ESC 2019.

Saudade ( portuguese word) : when you miss someone or something.

One suggestion:

The translation of quem mata quem in my opinion should be who is killing whom or even who is going to kill whom. Who kills whom sounds to me too literal and less meaningful in English.

But this music does not need to be translated to reach other languages because it sung and musically hypnotizes takes any of us on a journey is ancestral is gloomy the lyrics the language little matter in Portuguese in Spanish in English, this music only even in Our language reaches the hearts and minds of people, the sounds of the voice, an entire universe realizes that there is agony, sadness, and letters and in it
