I think this is an assumption made using a small sample space. There are smart rich people with a high sense of self belief. there are broke men with a high sense of self belief. Similarly, there are rich men that doubt themselves and poor men that doubt themselves.

Having self belief or not is not a determinant of being wealthy. Being creative, solving problems and monetizing your solutions is how you get wealthy.

If you are innovative, self belief can keep you going in times when others doubt you. If you are doing nothing and all you have is self belief, that's when there is a problem.

To single out self belief and then say that once you see a man with self belief, a woman should run away, is so self-evidently fallacious.
