Some Dude On The Internet - Greetings from Saskatoon! Now that Matt Shakman is directing Fantastic Four, looks like they’re gonna start writing and casting soon. Just read that Jeff Kaplan and Ian Springer have been hired to write while everyone else looks for the actors themselves. Never heard of these writers before, so I’m not sure what to think. I find that super exciting! I love when studios find new blood. And, yeah, if they are giving these writers all of this work, it can only mean they are doing a good/great job so far. I have zero reason to doubt at this point. Also, I trust in casting director Sarah Finn. She's done such an amazing job in all the casting and I'm sure F4 will be no different.

We definitely getting casting news drop throughout next month to December. I believe some of the members are already cast but haven't been announced.

This also tells one thing, Secret Wars is not the end of MCU. They have more phases coming. Safe to assume MCU will stay around for at least another 10 years.

It's sounds like initial reports of Feige being more hands off on the FF is completely void at this point. It's looking like Feige has been and will be, extremely close and involved in this production.

When they said the name Jeff Kaplan I was just thinking "The creator of Overwatch, previous employee of Blizzard entertainment and writer of the Green Hills of Stranglethorn is writing for a movie? What?"

Heard an “insider” say that these guys were extremely huge fans of the source material and had some inspired takes on how to adapt the fantastic 4, so maybe that played a big part in them landing the gig

Yeah this is actually very interesting news and is kind of exciting, hopefully the movie will have a distinct feel it’s time to introduce Reed and Doom.

Feels to me this is Feige preparing to be very hands on on this one.

Stuff like this and Matt Shakman being the director has me thinking that I think we’ve all been expecting this movie’s cast and crew to be a lot more star studded than it actually will be, like John Krasinski, Emily Blunt, Leonardo DiCaprio and Robert De Niro as the Fantastic Four with Denzel Washington as Doctor Doom and Steven Spielberg as the director, when in reality is more than likely gonna be made up of people we’re not all that familiar with, so I think people need to really level out their expectations when it comes to the kind of people they’re gonna get to make this movie, they’ll more than likely still be good choices but it won’t be filled to the brim with all of the most recognizable and beloved people in Hollywood history

I am very keen on on having fresh writers for FF4. This could be an immense break for them as writers. I hope they do good! I do not have any worries about it.

The backlash for these new writers coming in is just really hypocritical. We should be celebrating that new writers with fresh ideas are coming in to work on a major blockbuster, not many of them get the chance, but they broke the mold. They made it. But no one is giving them the benefit of the doubt, NO ONE is giving them at least a chance to surprise them. Really speaks to how "open-minded" some people really are. smh.

I’m kinda tired of Fantastic 4 news. It’s all background stuff and nothing really interesting. Until actors are confirmed, I do not care. But if others do then I’m happy for you. I’m glad you’re getting something out of it.
