Mike takes us for a lap on the new 2023 Yamaha YZ250FX. Sharing his thoughts... the bike overall ran really well, but didn't quite compare to the KTM XC-F.
I didn't have a chance to ride the bike, but in my past experiences, I prefer KTM's off-road models over Yamaha's offerings. The bikes feel lighter, corner better, and provide a better "rider feel" in the attack position. Yamaha wins with stock suspension by long shot though.

I rode that bike last year and really liked it. This year it didn't feel as good. Suspension felt very harsh, power was just ok...

Wouldnt mind trying one of these i have yet to ride anything this new. Looks like a nice mechine. Also the forist is reminiscent of Northern Virginia.

I'd love to get a chance to revisit this bike especially if it were somewhat setup. This thing was stiff as hell and I never felt comfortable.

In your humble opinion, what Bike would you recommend for me the 125X, 250X or that fine whip you just tested here?

That 2 stroke blew past like you were standing still!! I currently ride a yz250 I turned into a woods bike. looking to upgrade. I prefer 2 strokes, but looking for an easier ride, I am hitting the late 40's mark and 2 strokes try and kill you, if not on the ball. I like the KTM XC-F 350 but damn they are expensive, do you think the KTM's are worth it even with the price tag?

Tempted to sell my yz450f for a 250fx. Been digging the single track and trails. Seems like it'll be easier to handle. Any opinions?
