My friend, Todd, brought me here. Everyone needs a Todd. You can't have mine. Get your own Todd.

It’s so crazy to think just 6 years ago this song helped me through my depression, I could never fully express how this song made me feel other than whole. Can’t wait to finally see them live one day.💋

I lived in Santa Barbara for around 4 years, I used to listen to this beautiful song on the PCH to LA, full blast, windows open, Pacific Ocean to the right. Sunshine and blue skies. Pure bliss. Thank you.

I return to this song all the time. Every few years and I need to experience this gentle anxiety that undelies a gauze thin blanket of normalcy again. Discordant but not disorganized. Toeing the line between function and disfunction. This song is an anxiety attack with wisdom.

Waiting for
My words to catch like I'm trying
To strike a match that's soaking wet
See through skull
See through skin
Leave all the lights on
Can't see out, but they see in
Stare down my nose, watching
The color drain from my eyes
Cold cereal and TV
Before I go to sleep
Breathing out, hoping to breathe in
I know nothing's wrong, but I'm not convinced
No, I know, I know, I've already told, myself
Maybe I'll believe it from somebody else
No, I know, I know, I've already told, myself
Maybe I'll believe it from somebody else
Breathing out
Hoping to breathe in
I know nothing's wrong, but I'm not convinced
I can let it happen, just let it happen
Just don't think so much, don't think so much

This video makes perfect sense within the context of the lyrics.

The entire song is a metaphor for mental illness. Lyrics like "I know nothing's wrong but I'm not convinced" allude to the feelings of hopelessness that are associated with most mental illnesses.

The images in the video of an astronaut lost on the beach, and of the man perpetually rolling backwards and forwards only strengthen the lyrical allegories. It's beautiful.

Most Local Natives songs have GREAT concrete themes.

So glad Rolling Stone recommended this group. Probably would've never discovered their amazing talent otherwise.

Twas this tune that punched me in my drunken gut in a field in Yorkshire in 2013. Big thumbs up!

I was on AK's (from The Underachievers) twitter and he recommended a Local Natives song. Now I'm on a listening spree.
