Using an USB DAC on an iDevice!

In this video I demonstrate the use of a USB DAC on an iPhone 5, using the Lightning Photo adapter (this should work with the 30-pin adapter as well). Works very well and stable enough, I have yet to come accross any problems regarding this connection. Tell me how it worked out for you!

I bought the smallest usb 2.0 hub I could find. Connected input to the camera connection kit. Then connected the JDS Labs Odac to the usb 2.0 hub. Connected the kit to my iPhone 6 Plus. Everything works.

IT worked a while, but now my dragonfly cobalt is not Working anymore with the camera adapter. IT comes from the ipad pretty sûre. Lossless + extra watt ? Too much i guess... iPad mini 4

I want the reverse. Is it possible? I want to use my iPad as a DAC connected to the digital output of my computer. In other words, I want to use my iPad as an external sound card for my PC.

I‘ve tried to connect my fiio e10k with my ipad 2017 via lightning to micro usb adapter and it doesn‘t work. Seems to get no power. I dont know. I‘m very new to apple products.

It seems like you haven't enabled your Google+ settings for replies to your comments, consider giving that a check. 

Anyhow, the E17 is a battery powered device, so it should in theory work. However, I guess it charges via USB, which might make it appear like a bus-powered device to the iDevice. This might spoil the functionality between the two. I would otherwise grab a photo-adapter if you already have the DAC, it doesn't cost much to try and can be used for various other purposes as well. Tell me how it goes if you decide to try.

Does portable DACs ( like the S.M.S.L X4) require too much power from the Iphone 8?

could it work if you used the normal lightning to usb (male) connected directly to the usb dac?
