Half Life Stranding

A quick little crossover animation for Death Stranding and Half-Life: Alyx. I mostly made this to learn how Source 2 Hammer and Filmmaker work. I felt inspired after playing the recent Death Stranding PC release. =P

"How did you get Source 2 Filmmaker?"
It comes with Half-Life: Alyx, along with other workshop tools, like the new map-editor, Hammer 2. You can also get it with DOTA 2 for free.

The tunnel map was made in Hammer 2, then embellished with props, details and lighting in Source 2 Filmmaker. Characters were animated with a bit of Kinect mocap and a ton of manual-cleanup. It took 4 days to make.

Things are a little slow while I transition to the new tools and deal with technical hurdles, but Source 2 is a treat to work with and is very promising!

The fact that his "bodyguards" are reanimated combine corpses is just a bit more terrifying.
Also he does not need bodyguards because that look at the end would make anyone run.

Looks great! The lighting is incredibly atmospheric. There's so much potential with S2FM to create some stunning animations, Valve really managed to deliver on a worthy successor to the original SFM (though the original created with SFM screen will be missed).

I love EVERYTHING about this, the ambiance, the staging, the fact that G-mans controls reanimated corpses.
I can't help but hope you'll decide to make a "full" series ouf of that or something because it looks GREAT !
