Swagtron Electric Kick Scooter Quick Tour and Comparison to E-Twow Electric Scooter

Показать описание
This is a quick video of my Swagtron Electric Scooter. I have had it for 4 months. It has gotten pretty beat up on the streets of New York. I commute almost every day as long as it's not raining.
You can adjust the gear speeds on the Swagtron with the top and bottom keys on the right side of the LED display which is located in the middle of the handlebars. The larger middle button on the right side of the LED display is the power button. The black lever on the right side of the handlebar is the throttle to make the motor go. And the red lever on the left side of the handlebar is the break. Both the throttle and break let you adjust how much go and stop you can apply. Although I would still consider both the levers somewhat on the abrupt side, in terms of how abruptly it accelerates and stops. Although not as much an the E-Twow. I would recommend starting on gear 1 when you first get the Swagtron. Then graduating to gear 2. You may even want to always start on 2, and then shift up to the faster gears. It's a bit smoother accelerating this way.
The Swagtron is also much lighter and much smaller than the E-Twow, which was a determining factor in my purchase. I would say that the Swagtron gives you the most bang for your buck. However, suspension is a big issue for me, as I found out after riding the Swagtron to and from work everyday (it's a 4.5 mile commute each way). Although it may not be such a big factor for people with better roads near them, and for riders without back or joint pain or other injuries. As the roads from Astoria, Queens to Midtown Manhattan have a lot of bumps and rough sections. If you have back or other joint issues, you might want to get the E-Twow.
As you can see from the video, my Swagtron Scooter is pretty beat up after 4 months of riding on NYC streets. The rear manual break fell off one day. I contacted Swagtron and they asked me to ship it back to them for repair, it was too much of a hassle since I threw the box out. And since the scooter folding mechanism stopped working and I cannot fold the scooter right now. This may have been due to riding it a few times in light rain and after it has rained. I think water and/or dirt may have gotten into the mechanism that allows the scooter to fold. The E-Twow also maneuvers or turns better in my opinion.
The display shows the gear speeds in the lower left hand side. The kilometers per hour on the upper right hand side (large). And the miles I have put on it on the lower right hand side. I have put 800 miles on it in the past 4 months.
I will likely get another scooter, but from a different company once I am ready to purchase another scooter. The suspension is good on the Swagtron, but not good enough for NYC and not for me since I have back issues.
The front light that comes installed with the Swagtron is very bright and long. I turn it off sometimes if my battery is low since it seems to eat up the battery. I don't really ride at night so I barely use it. I sometimes use it when it is cloudy.
People ask me about the scooter all the time while I'm riding it which is cool. I always tell people they can get it on Amazon for around $300. I'm not sure they believe me, as I think most people assume these electric scooters cost around $1000.
Please feel free to comment with any questions.
Thank you for watching.
