CPF founder and Artistic Director Jonathan Levin presents – Sanctuary - a special exploration of the many different manners in which religious themes worked their way into the classical music literature over the years, often by very worldly men and on a secular instrument. The program encompasses a vast range of expression from the immortal Toccata and Fugue in D minor by Bach to the hyper-virtuosic evocation of the childhood of Christ in Olivier Messiaen’s Regard de l’Esprit de joie from Vingt regards sur l’enfant-Jésus .
