In 1989, Stevie headlined a concert in Auckland New Zealand. I was a stagehand and got to spend my breaks with some of the artists during soundcheck. I spent half an hour with Rene Martinez, Stevies guitar tech. I was allowed to play (try to) 4 of his guitars including his number 1. It was like playing with fencing wire due to his heavy gauge strings and high action.
I met Stevie briefly and shook hands. He blew a Marshall amp on stage during his set and his tech grabbed me, and we swapped it put for a never forget meeting my guitar cried when my father told me he had died in a helicopter crash. RIP Stevie.

At a concert in Chapel Hill N.C. I saw Stevie Ray Vaughan. The stage was only about 3ft off the floor in Memorial Hall and while he was playing Voodoo Child, ,"I put my hand on this guitar Steve just smiled at me and kept playing while his sweat was dripping down on me!" I'll never forget that night because when he first came on stage. He began playing and the power went out. It took over an hour to get it fixed and when he came back. He said, for those that stuck around how about I play for you for 3 hours. The Hall only held about 2500 people.
SRV ONE OF THE GREATEST GUITARIST EVER! NO ONE COULD CHANNEL JIMI HENDRIX HENDRIX LIKE STEVIE RAY VAUGHAN!

My teacher introduced me to SRV in 2013 maybe 2014. I will never forget it. Truly one of the greatest blues guitarists in human history. I don't care what anybody says. SRV is the GOAT!

One of the greatest guitarists ever, and I was lucky enough to see him in concert (Charlie Watts' Big Band was the opener!)

Thank God ! I often wondered who had it. JIMI it's absolutely the right way, to place Stevies guitar in a stand with nobody touching the very guitar that just has amazed me over the years.

During an interview with Red Beard the DJ stated " boy if that guitar could talk " to which Stevie replied " This guitar does talk " truer words were never spoken. No one should ever play that guitar again. It should have been buried with him 🙏.

He made it sound like nobody else was playing before him. And I mean that in the nicest way possible

Actually the pickups was 59s the body was 62 and neck 63... according to fender when they disassembled it to get the specs to make the reissues.
When the stage fell on it he replaced it with a 63 neck from other stat called red
And it was played till his death then Jimmy put the damaged original one back on.
