I want to note that though the base stat I gave him could seem too high at 609 in OU there are currently 2 pokemon that have a 660 base stat total however yes I will admit that it’s a big number lol but the idea was that that big base total was balanced by that horrible defensive typing also I just realized I burped during the video my bad lol

The thing that disappointed me most about Tropius is that in Scarlet and Violet the tm ingredient collected from Tropius is “Tropius leaves.” I! Want! Tropius! BANANAS!!! When tasked with giving every Pokémon some collectible that are dropped from battle, who at gamefreak had bananas served to them on a silver platter and still went “nah, why not collect some leaves instead?” I want to make a tm using banana collected off of a Tropius! I don’t care if turning a banana into a disc makes no sense, none of the drops make sense, it’s purely a game mechanic thing, give me the bananas!

609 BST?! That's higher than a psuedo-legendary! I think at most, he should be 510 BST. Give him 30 extra points in attack (making it 98) and 20 in speed (making it 71) he can still keep his decent bulk and mediocre special attack that way and he won't be overpowered

I like this idea Tropius has always been one of my favorite bad mons. This turns him into a monster

I always thought Tropius could be an awesome Grass/Dragon type, but Aerilate is a cool gamer ability for cool gamers, so I think your concept is also pretty nice. It's kind of surprising how many good moves it does already have, like you mentioned. Just goes to show how much a lackluster statline and typing can hold something back.

I like the changes, I just feel like you made its BST too high, you could have it be in the 500s and it’ll be decent, since it doesn’t have to be too fast due to Dragon Dance and having Priority, so maybe making its Speed 95 and its attack 110, since it’s going to be able to boost its Speed and Physical Attack with Dragon Dance, and then maybe making its HP just base 100, since it’s a good HP Spot since it has decent defenses. Also what ability was changed? Since it probably wouldn’t need base 110 Speed if it still has Chlorophyll

lol i know modern pokémon stat totals get crazy these days but that’s a massive stat boost. it is deserving thematically imo since it is supposed to be a massive beast, i did buff him to 575 in my jack but leaned more into it defensive nature having its bad typo i got covered by high stats in a gen that otherwise doesn’t have too many.

I think you went a bit too far with this, though I do like a lot of the ideas. I actually like aerialate a lot, along with a much higher attack stat and more bulk. Base 110 speed is probably too much, especially with dragon dance as an option, so maybe lowering that to 80 would make more sense. I don’t really see this Dino being capable of extreme speed, but I do like roost a lot, since it really should have this move.

If randoms is anything to go off of, tropius has one of the worlds most annoying sub seed sets when it actually gets stats, so we gotta be careful there. Overall cool changes!

I also feel like tropius could use some sort of signature move involving bananas? I don’t know exactly what, but it could really use something interesting there using its unique design.

Would be cool to see a new form of Tropius with the same bst but changed typing, minmaxed stats and a new ability. I'd love something similar to how scyther can evolve into scizor/kleavor.

I really like the idea but I (and I think many comments) think the base stat total doesnt feel exactly right, but I think 580 bst works. 580 might leave it in UU I'd think depending on what you took away from, but I love the concept of this really powerful pokemon with all the tools and strength it needs, but balanced by a not great typing. I think taking away from it's Phys. Def and Attack would be the best, but I think thematically it's design is also really bulky, so maybe like ~85 speed and keeping most of the same stats might work. I really like this concept though and I wish tropius was as epic as this, plus I love Aerilate. Fun hypothetical, love the channel!

i was making an emerald hack rom and got a BST that was close to yours, I kinda gave it Heatran-like base stats but more oriented to defense (130/90/106/91/106/77) and made it a single encounter Legendary.

The typing and movepool still had to be completely accounted for, because it was still very mid except for the classic harvest stall set, which was bonkers.

Plus a signature ability named "Reforestation", which heals its HP by 1/10 every time it hits with an attack, offsetting Life Orb recoil.

Lemme drop a childhood story rq

Back in 2006-2007 when i played Pokemon Diamond (which my first pokemon game), i remember going in completely blind, totally oblivious to any previous Pokemon titles, so anything Gen 1-3 to my stupid ass 6 year old brain saw those Pokemon as "new" and a good amount of them were seen as "Mysterious Mythicals" cause i didnt know wtf a Swampert, Blaziken; or the topic of this story, Tropius was. So when i first entered the Safari Zone, i encountered Tropius and i was HYPED!!! I saw a pokemon with a kickass design that i have never seen in the main story. Seeing a Brachiosaurus-like Pokemon with wings made my eyes sparkle and i added him to my team (DO NOT ASK ME WHAT I NICKNAMED In my head, i thought i caught an ultra rare titan-sized legendary pokemon no one else has ever used. My underdeveloped mind wasnt able to process it was ass even when i used it and failed miserably to make it work.

Years later i grew a few brain cells and looked back at those memories, only to be met with sheer disappointment knowing how ass of a typing it has, how SEVERELY underwhelming it's stats are, shocked to see it wasnt a giant and just a basketball player in height at best, and that it was just a mid ass pokemon that had no semblance of a unique rarity to it. Tropius still has a special place in my heart personally, but god damn did this poor bastard fall off hard for me.

Personally I think the best way to handle it is making him a volcorona clone with quiver dance and a 540 bst I think 609 is way too high you could swap volcs special and physical defense around In order to make it a little more unique and idk give it a reliable flying type signature move or something
