Mountain Biking in cold weather - How to prep & what to know.

Today we're taking a look at cold weather riding, how to prep for it and how to actually enjoy being out there when its at or below freezing.

As long as the dirt is good to go, there's no reason to get off the bike just because its winter. In this video I go over how I prep and what has worked for me as a Floridian who often goes to ride in colder places.

Please respect the trails if they're muddy, don't ride when the thaw season hits as you can damage the trail, frozen or dry trails are the way to go.

New snow can ice up derailleur jockey wheels, making a horrible noise. The chain will get on the wrong sprockets and you have to stop and get the ice out to pedal more.

I watched this when it came out this Spring. I'm watching it now with my big boy bike on its way (took my hardtail out again last night...tried going as fast as I did on the demo of my new La Sal and nearly wiped out several times before I toned it down...really cannot wait for my new bike).

Lemme tell you, getting a wicked nice bike the end of the year means this video couldn't be more helpful right now.

I like studded tires for snow and ice. My trails don't have prolonged climbs or descents so I don't really use true winter gloves.

This is really good stuff. I had no idea what biker shorts were called. Have never worn them. Might look into them sometime.
