Fun fact: in the original IDW continuity, the artists started swapping Rumble and Frenzy's colors at one point. One issue would have someone refer to the blue one as Frenzy, then the next would refer to it as Rumble.

The in-universe explanation was that the two cassettes were concerned people were confusing them, so they decided to swap colors every so often. Nobody noticed when it happened; they always called Rumble Rumble and Frenzy Frenzy, regardless of colors.

According to the G1 toys, Frenzy is the blue one. According to the G1 cartoon, Frenzy is the red one.

I’ve had that as a Headcanon for years. Those two like to regularly swap paint jobs, so that none but them may know who is who. Though, if anyone were to truly ask me…. Rumble had the red paint job first. Very first episode he had ever been in G1, he wasn’t blue. Do they fight over who gets to be red that day? Yes. Yes they do. About as much as we fight about what colors Rumble and Frenzy are.

Then later when they ask about Buzzsaw and Laserbeak, he tells them those are accurate, and no one believes him.
