If someone wants to believe in Bible alone, there's a question that have to answer first:

If the New Testament wasn't completely written and compiled until almost the year 400, how did Jesus expect Christians in the first four hundred years to be saved??

Hey there, I'm a Protestant who's doubting protestantism and is seeking to convert to either Catholicism or Orthodoxy. I was wondering if you can make a video as to why you think Catholicism is the true faith over Eastern Orthodoxy. Or would you debate an Eastern Orthodox apologist here YouTube name Jay Dyer? I think this would help me in my journey and would help me make my final decision on to which church to attend. Please and thanks. God bless you.

*When you think about it, the reason why Protestant had to "interpret" a non-authoritative Church is obvious:* Having been separated from THE Church which existed since Christ's times, they _(the reformers)_ knew there was *no way* to justify their existence without flushing Church authority down the drain. They then came-up with alternate interpretations _(uhm, excuses really)_ of scripture regarding what "the Church" now meant... without which many of their faithfuls would soon see the true rotten fruits of this interpretation; endless division among themselves; a reality that negates the teachings of the Bible about a body united in teachings, faith, and free of schism. No authority means chaos in teachings: they can flap their mouths and protest as much as they want... *it's still the truth.*

2 Thessalonians 2:15..." So then Brethren, Stand firm and Hold (Works/Deeds) to the TRADITION taught by us (Apostles/Disciples), either by spoken word (oral tradition) or by our letters."
2 Thessalonians 3:16... "Now we command you, brethren, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that you keep away from any brethren who are Walking in Idleness (Lazy Works/Deeds) and not in accordance with the TRADITION (oral/spoken word and letters/epistles) that you received from us (Apostles/Disciples)."

In Conclusion...the Christian Churches started without the Written (manuscripts) New Testament but with ORAL TRADITION (Spoken Word) more than 30 years after Christ Jesus Ascended to Heaven... therefore, SCRIPTURE (Bible) ALONE as the Sole Authority of God's Words is NON-BIBLICAL TRUTH... Amen.

In Sola Scriptura EVERY PROTESTant becomes HIS OWN INFALLIBLE Pope.

The Bible was written by God. It can’t be wrong. The catachism and whatever else you use was written by man. Man makes mistakes and man sins. I’m going to stick with the Bible only!!

This argument I find very disturbing because the core of the Catholic argument is that God has a communication problem. If we all agree that the scriptures are divinely inspired and that God inspired the writers to write what the wrote, how is it that the scriptures are not sufficient for our faith? Did the Pharisees need to interpret what God told Moses to tell the people of Israel? Of course not, but they did anyway. The same attitude can be found in the Catholic Church. In my opinion.

2 Timothy 2:15 King James Version (KJV)

15 Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.

Isaiah 34:16
Seek ye out of the book of the LORD, and read: no one of these shall fail, none shall want her mate: for my mouth it hath commanded, and his spirit it hath gathered them.

John 1:1 - In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.

John 1:14 - And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father, ) full of grace and truth.

Psalm 138:2
King James Version
2 I will worship toward thy holy temple, and praise thy name for thy lovingkindness and for thy truth: for thou hast magnified thy word above all thy name.

Christ’s words and Christ himself saved me from damnation. If you think about it, there’s more unity in Protestantism than Catholicism because of the belief in Faith alone through Christ alone for salvation.

Romans 4:25 - Who was delivered for our offences, and was raised again for our justification.

There are many denominations because people add, subtract, to the word or take scripture out of context instead of leaving it alone. Just like eve in the garden misquoting God. Gods words have been attacked since Genesis 3.
All that matters is Thus Saith The Lord.

This is why people also need to stop reading KJV of the bible.

True that the Bible doesn't teach Bible alone.
I think the greatest argument however is even a little more common sense than that:

The New Testament books weren't completely written and compiled together until almost 400 years after Jesus.
Jesus wouldn't create a new covenant / religion based solely on a book that didn't exist, and wouldn't exist for hundreds of years.

Bible alone? What about God's word? 😃

Hey Bryan, I have a question. Are we literally eating a human being (Jesus Christ) when we receive the Eucharist? If yes, then isn't that cannibalism?

Protestants (at least mindful ones) recognize that church history, tradition, and the teaching position of the Church is authoritative. To imply we just “toss these out” is completely wrong. We recognize, however, these are all subservient to one infallible authority, and that is the scriptures. In fact, in Mark 7, our Lord Jesus when disputing with the Jewish elders analyzed the traditions they followed (they believed them to be God inspired) and examined them in light of that which was truly God-breathed (the scriptures). Roman Catholics seem to think that the only two options you have is an infallible interpreting magisterium of the Church, or just some crazy guy under a tree reading the Bible. That’s a false dichotomy. The Church can be authoritative and teach truths about scripture without being infallible. You continued to espouse the old 40, 000 Protestant denominations lie. Read the original source from the World Christian Encyclopedia. It includes Jehovah Witness and LDS denominations, and I hope we both recognize it is foolish to lump them in with traditional Protestants. The source also lists over 200 Roman Catholic sects as well. You then delivered the whole “the church put together the Bible” mantra. The earliest we see the NT books as a whole list is Athanasius’ 39 Festal Letter. Funny enough, if you read the letter, he goes on to say the Deuterocanonical books are helpful and authoritative, but does not include them in his list of the Old Testament canon. The RCC doesn’t deliver a binding statement on which books are canon until the Council of Trent in the 16th century! Furthermore, Athanasius (nor anyone else in his time) were Roman Catholics! To imply the early church consisted of a bunch of Roman Catholics is to misrepresent history. The Papacy, the infallibility of the Bishop of Rome, transubstantiation in the mass, the Marian dogmas, and purgatory was not believed by anyone in the first centuries of the Church. All in all, scripture is God-breathed, infallible, and sufficient to function as the rule of faith for the man of God, and all other traditions must be examined in light of what it says.

Absolute heresy.

All scripture is inspired by God and is useful for teaching, for refutation, for correction, and for training in righteousness, so that one who belongs to God may be competent, equipped for every good work.
2 Timothy 3:16‭-‬17

He responded, “Well did Isaiah prophesy about you hypocrites, as it is written: ‘This people honors me with their lips, but their hearts are far from me; In vain do they worship me, teaching as doctrines human precepts.’ You disregard God’s commandment but cling to human tradition.” He went on to say, “How well you have set aside the commandment of God in order to uphold your tradition! For Moses said, ‘Honor your father and your mother, ’ and ‘Whoever curses father or mother shall die.’ Yet you say, ‘If a person says to father or mother, “Any support you might have had from me is qorban ”’ (meaning, dedicated to God), you allow him to do nothing more for his father or mother. You nullify the word of God in favor of your tradition that you have handed on. And you do many such things.”
Mark 7:6‭-‬13

Moreover, we possess the prophetic message that is altogether reliable. You will do well to be attentive to it, as to a lamp shining in a dark place, until day dawns and the morning star rises in your hearts. Know this first of all, that there is no prophecy of scripture that is a matter of personal interpretation, for no prophecy ever came through human will; but rather human beings moved by the holy Spirit spoke under the influence of God.
2 Peter 1:19‭-‬21

Bryan, I take it you're not one of those 'light-weight Catholic apologists" who say something but refuse - REFUSE - to give an answer when questioned. Seriously, man, I'm really really tired of Catholics who wimp out. Seriously. Can I ask you questions in that you not run for your life? I'd like to ask you questions, but if you refuse to answer then please don't refer to yourself as an 'apologist.'

I believe in Prima Scriptura because "Bible alone" leads to bad results sometimes.
