Показать описание
The JFK Airtrain is an 8.1-mile-long elevated people mover system and airport rail link serving John F. Kennedy International Airport (JFK Airport) in New York City. The driverless system operates 24/7 and consists of three lines and ten stations within the New York City borough of Queens. It connects the airport's terminals with the New York City Subway in the Howard Beach neighborhood of Queens, and with the Long Island Rail Road and subway in the Jamaica neighborhood. Trains on the JFK Airtrain are fully automated, with large passenger-accessible front windows. Here is a front-facing view of the Jamaica Line, which starts in Jamaica, Queens, runs down to the Airport, loops through all the terminals, and then returns back to Jamaica. Enjoy!

Only the bravest can film any Port Authority transit system without getting caught by Port Authority itself. Thanks for the footage!

What an amazing infrastructure. It's mind boggling people can design, build and operate such a system. I wonder how many really appreciate it?

Seeing the BA 747 breaks my heart. And the A318. They will be sorely missed.

As a Vancouverite I LOVE the Airtrain! It’s like the Skytrain but cleaner and a quarter of the capacity. Were arguing about screen doors when New York got it right the first time! What a great and Fantastic city lovely people! Love New York! ❤️

Nice! Taken right before the pandemic. So many more people and cars out back then.

Now that I have seen the full extent of the Air train for JFK (It's massive). I don't see a problem with them making one for LGA. It only seems fair

The city originally wanted this air train to continue to LaGuardia, then into the city via a subway route. The airlines (whose taxes paid for this) balked. In a compromise, these air train cars are built to NYC subway standards and could run on subway tracks if, at some distant point, it was to be integrated into the system in some way.

I did this exact thing in January, but this video is the better one.

Why can't the LaGuardia Air Train be connected to the JFK Airtrain to have one unified

Even though one of the automatic people mover train systems go on cables and rubber tires but there would be some that goes on magnets and metal rails

This is similar to Toronto's Scarborough RT and Detroit's People Mover.
