can't wait. i don't mind lack of permadeath... whenever i choose it, i don't commit and replay battles to keep all my units alive anyway.

I'm glad this game gets such a high rating!

They really should've called it 'Scales of Convictions' as this is literally what its all about and the one thing the narration never shuts up about. ^^'

Great review. I am so excited to play this. I loved the demo.

Having played the demo I had real difficulty choosing between some options. There seemed to be merits to each decision, every character made good points in their favour. That's the mark of fantastic writing, that it isn't a blatant black and white option. This isn't the Mass Effect paragon/renegade choice where it really doesn't matter how much of a prick you are, it's just a stylistic choice. These decisions feel like they'll have big repercussions. As a fellow writer, that alone earned my pre-order money. I wanted to reward whoever worked so hard making those choices agonizing because I know how much extra effort it takes.

Feels like Tactics Ogre from PSP era level of story. I really like it so Far!

I don't like choosing my own adventure. It means I have to play the game more than once or just look up the other "what ifs".

I'm terrible at strategy games, but I would love to play these

I wish they allowed to you purchase your army like FFT. And gave you options to change their job class.

I don’t see the option to transfer the demo to main game. I played the Debut Demo but Not The Prologue Demo and I Have to Restart from the beginning why is there 2 different demos

From the demo only. Assuming the VA you are talking about is the Japanese one. The English VA is very flat, monotone and the recording did not even seem correct. On the other hand the Japanese version was much more lively and added a lot to the experience. I would at least recommend giving it a try. I had to shut the music off, maybe it gets better, it was just a short loop, though they at least changed themes at times (it ain't no Persona or FF score). The exploring bit just seemed to be a time waster. Though they did reward you for doing it. The decision stuff was interesting but I hope we all don't decide there is a good ending and you have to play it certain way. The story is not going to sell this game unless some kind of amazing catch happens. This was a bout as off the shelf JRPG story going.

Now the battle system. That was fun. A lot of fun. Kind of why I wish they had those extra maps like FE. But I do worry about leveling new characters...is it only in that rather plain practice field or do new modes of leveling outside of the 'main game'?

So I am kind of stuck. My demo experience told me to skip it. There are so many games to play. Your review make it seems like maybe beyond the demo it gets better? Elden Ring kind of good. You seemed to like the decision tree stuff, seemed like a visual novel to me which I guess could be good as you get deeper into the story?

In other words was the demo a good indicator of the game? Sorry I wrote a lot this was a game I was looking forward to this title but the demo really didn't grab me.

I was planning on getting this over Elden Ring.

Don't regret it, but can't wait to get to this eventually. Looks amazing.

You can't compare the decision making of this game to Life is Strange lol I love that your choices in this game have consequences along the way, so that less weight is on the ending

i would call it triad tactics or TT for short

I tried the demo, and I’m very interested in the game as a fan of FF Tactics, I just not sure about the $60 price tag, while it looks great and I’m sure it is, I think $40 would be more comfortable price.

At 8:33 he literally tells you what the stories final major decision is. Just a heads up for anyone wanting to avoid this info.

While I absolutely love the game, I feel like this review glossed over certain game aspects that could be improved. While many of the voices are good, this certainly doesn't apply to all. There's some subpar voice acting in here as well. Then there's the dark halo around every sprite and many terrain edges, that blurs the otherwise gorgeous graphics so much that it hampers visibility in crowded battles. The movement during exploration feels too fast and snappy, and often moved me onto rooftops and whatnot, when that was not where I meant to go.

Like I said, I love the game! But the this review was a bit too uncritical for me, when there's clearly things open for improvement.

this is agonizing because I love me some FFT and I loved Octopath Traveler, but...

an overwhelming amount of the RPGs and Strategy games I get on switch, I don't finish just because of how much of a pain in the ass it is for me to play my switch. (joycons don't synch with the console for proper handheld mode, so I either have to tabletop mode or hook it up to one of my limited HDMI ports on my TV and spurn my friends on discord to play.)

Like... maybe if I sit down and get through Fire Emblem Three Houses... or Wargroove... or Xenoblade 2... or Bravely Default 2, I'll be able to justify getting this on switch.

Otherwise, I feel like maybe it's best for me to wait for a Steam release... :(
