In this video I check back in on the MARVEL TRADING CARD MARKET and talk about some ROOKIE cards that might be interesting. I also OPEN UP some 1993 MARVEL MASTERPIECE PACKS.

Unfortunately they were stuck together. But after recording this, I was able to look up a trick for separating cards and was able to salvage some of them. So all wasn't lost :)

warmachine is one of the coolest cards from that set

Microwave them pack by pack, without the wrapper, for 10 seconds each using a paper plate or paper towel. It softens the gloss just enough to separate the cards and decreases the chances of them bricking together.

Warm the pack before you open it. Once you take the cards out of the pack. Hold the pile as you would your phone. Then gently rock the pile of cards by pushing up and down in the centre. You will hear cracking. This can separate the cards with little or no damage.

That horrible “bricking” issue when they stick together like that 😭😭😭

Some people claim you can freeze them or microwave them/heat them up. I opened a full box and about 30 packs a few weeks ago - mixed results - I tried some in the freezer for 3-4 hours - and also put some in my toaster oven for 20-30 mins at like 170-180 degrees. It may have helped a little bit but if they are “bricked”/stuck together I think it is what it is. 1993 tends to be the worst - 92 and 94 are similar but don’t seem to be quite as bad. Thanks for giving it a try though!

That is very unfortunate that the cards stuck together. Thanks for the show and information. Have a great day!

Bummer about the cards sticking together or “bricking”.🙁 Still enjoyed the content! I have been bitten by the Marvel trading card bug again! I’m buying sealed boxes of older and newer sets to include 2020 Upper Deck Marvel Ages. It just recently came out and I pulled a 1960s Decade card of Spider-Man, which is supposed to be a short print (SP) card! Thanks for continuing to give us some content while you’re away! 👍🏼👊🏼😎

I would say I know A bit about card collecting, if you are opening cards with gloves, you care way too much about cards, just be as careful with them as you would a comic.

Man the 1966 donruss will be the most expensive set, a full set is up for 13k right now lol so people are catching on lol, it’s the spiderman, cap, hulk, iron man, daredevil & Thor rookies lol . Saying the newer ones only count is like saying a reprint of AF15 is more desirable than a AF15 from 1962 because it’s modernised 😂 ....the donruss marvel cards are the golden age set of marvel cards that were bought in packs and traded

The gloss printing they used to make these cards is what caused the sticking together over the years. You did absolutely nothing wrong.

the artwork on these are so dynamic and masterfully rendered; especially Joe Jusko pieces.

ive heard people say put them in the microwave for about 15-20 seconds and that helps...i have cracked a box and had the bricking....i dont have a microwave so that was a no go for me...i did what i call cracking the packs before i even opened them..cracked them like an ice tray...you are going to still get damaged cards...out of a box i had about 40-50 damaged cards...roughly 1 and a half cards per pack. but the cracking them helps loosen up the ones that are not stuck that bad.

Lol funny watching you rip them apart I bet people were cringing and even fainting lmao. Steam stops the ripping by the way.

Usually slightly bending them is better than peeling them apart.

I was thinking "did he mean ripping open marvel trading cards?" Then I watched the video and you certainly meant ripping marvel cards😬

I collect cards differently than most people. I have certain characters that I try to get every card that came out of that character. The characters I collect are:
Spider-Man
Venom
Carnage
Symbiote
Spider-Man villains
Ghost Rider
Hulk
Werewolf by Night
Morbius
Deadpool
Wolverine
And any Spider-Man version

Glad I saw your video. I'm trying to complete the 93 set and thought it would be more fun to buy packs, but not I'm thinking I'll probably just buy open cards on eBay.

The fact that someone began naming these rookie cards i find annoying. Thats a new thing, I have a bunch and collected these and that was never a thing. It's like what is considered a key comic nowadays that never would have passed for anything special 10-15 years ago. But they have to create demand on the bulk!. Good opening by the way, I haven't seen any opened lately and didn't know about them sticking
