Enthusiast don’t care for passengers! The truth is in India it’s compared to with family SUVs but this isn’t the purpose of this vehicle.

I’m not saying the 5 door is useless, but it appeals to a much more niche customer. Suzuki made a mistake not releasing both configurations. And thus the Thar 3 door RWD eating up the market share that Jimny could have occupied instead. Since that one from Mahindra has RWD options, but Jimny only comes in 4x4 which would be a big USP over the 3 door Thar.

In India road presence means size and looks, and the jimny looks toyish but its reputation as an off-roader internationally is legendary, and is not bought for its looks or anything. But, here in India, people are not aware of the popularity of earlier models and off-road enthusiasts are 1 in lakhs of car buyers. This is a true 4x4 AWD you can get under 15lakhs. It’s the perfect car for me!
