Tetragonula hockingsi, also known as sugarbag bees, are a unique species of bee. They can't sting, and they have the most bizarre-looking nest that looks like something straight out of sci-fi movies.

These are the hives of *Vulture bees* not *Sugarbag bees* as they claimed. They even mentioned that sugarbag bees' hives have a spiral pattern and it is true but as you can see the hives in the video don't have that. You can google "sugarbag bee hive" and you'll immediately see how different it is from what is shown here.
Vulture bees' hives are pretty interesting tho as they might seem even alien due to its look. Vulture bees also don't have a sting and they eat rotten meat instead. Their hives and "honey" also contain processed rotten meat tho it is not recommended to consume their honey as it can contain dangerous bacteria.

stingless bee isn't exclusive in australia. many southeast asia have it too. what makes its honey pricey is because you need to shipon honey in every single little ball shape with hand-held tiny pump

In Costa Rica my neighbors had mariola bee hives. They're the smallest bees that make honey and they're also stingless. We opened a hive once so I could try the honey. It was very dark and extremely sweet. I'd like to know what flowers they like because this was on a coffee farm but there's jungle patches nearby so there are orchids and lots of other flowers. Plus the locals grow other crops besides coffee. So those bees have a lot of options for flowers. There were way more in the hive than I expected and being swarmed was weird. They even tried to sting but they were totally harmless to us. And they were the size of a small mosquito or maybe a fruit fly, tiny little bees. Their hives were in 2x4 frames about 12x18" with plywood in front and back with a little hole in one corner for the bees to enter and exit. Inside was very strange, more similar to the hive in the video than honey bee hives.
In Costa Rica they also have some black bees about the size of honey bees. They make honey too but nobody eats ot because they collect animal poo and dead stuff and their honey isn't considered edible.

Stingless bee are found in many parts of the world not only australia. Even from my country ( India). They make nest in underground or inside trunk which looks same like this. Stingless bee itself have many species within it.
