Thanks guys, for explaining how to access all the options and how to build user patches. Much more useful than the manuals that come with the GT-1B

As a noob, I bought this as a means to "get into pedals" without buying the farm. Plus, I'm kind of doing this on my own. So, I'm kind of directionless. I went out and bought a pedal the other day, got home and played with it, loved it, then realized I have it on my GA-1B. So, I started digging and was like, "Ah, what doesn't this thing have?" Needless to say, I'm returning that other pedal. It's easy for a noob to get lost in this. But, It can also be fun to experiment, learn how everything works, put them in orders, and figure this stuff out without doing bankrupt. I'm glad i bought it.

this unit is actually AMAZING. Lotsa fun, and even though I've got some sweet boutique-type pedals this thing still lives on my board and forms a kind of "nerve centre" for my overall sound. So whenever I need an odd quirky effect for something that I don't want to pay $250 for a pedal to create... yes we get shafted for effects units here in New Zealand... this unit delivers the vibes every time.

I play bass (obviously) in a live prog metal band and I do exactly what these dudes said - program a heap of patches to flick through for each of our songs. That way I just have to use the up and down switches to change the tones and effects for each part of the songs. When we meander and jam then my other pedals take over. I've also expanded it with the FS7 double footswitch so now this pedal is pretty much unbeatable for versatility.

The only thing that I've found a bit iffy is the tuner, which flits and wobbles all over the place. But thats not really why you're buying this pedal is it?! Get a tc polytune.

You should have brought someone that actually like bass effects to demo this one

That lick with the envelope filter at 24:06 sounds awesome. Great playing Lee!

I got one a year ago and am happy with it. I have it parallel to a ‘dry’ line because I like always hanging that non-effected tone underpinning everything. Absent that, the distortions in this unit are too thin. But for the price, with all the other great effects, it’s wonderful

I used to have the gt 6b. it was super convenient to turn it on and have your patch exactly as you left it, but that model was huge and i was always scared of the power coming unhooked on stage. I think running the 1b with rechargeable batteries would be great

The newer gt stuff sounds so much better than the old stuff. I used to have a gt-8 that I couldn't get a good amp sound out of. Some of the GP-10 amp models are great without tweaking.

You may want to start a _nice_ jar next to the _yeah_ jar. ;)

Factor in this pedal is the price of 1 boutique pedal and has INCREDIBLE SOUNDS in it .. I just got one and haven't tried my guitars through it just for the effects .. gonna give it a try ..

tried one out, can get some really cool sounds - but most of the effects are there to fill up the list. There are 4 things which are basically an EQ, and lots of random junk effects. It cannot replace enough of my pedals to stop me tap dancing - so I can't warrant buying it, as it solves no problems for me

Is it possible to use this unit as an audio interface to do recordings in a DAW or use it with garageband on the ipad or pc?

Hi everybody, I have a (hope) simple question: I see that there are A LOT of effects under FX2/MOD. My question is: can I combine, say, octaver+chorus+tremolo, or are they only alternative choices?

Use di boxes for a better representation, the rumbles have cab sim permanently engaged on the di, scoops the sound.
