LYRICS
I got a half a six pack of Old Milwaukee
And a half a bag of weed
I can’t do it like I did when I was a kid
This is all I’m going to need
Because I know you always worry about me drinking my dinner
But I don’t do that anymore
I got me a sweet girl at home
She’s keeping food on the table
And at night she keeps me warm
So I’ve got me this piece of paper
And I got my favorite pen
I know it’s been a little while
And talking’s not my style
So I just had to write my friend

Hey I’m doing alright Mamma
I’m ok, I know your late night talks with Jesus
Have helped me on my way
I know it wasn’t always easy
Raising my father’s son
And your son will be alright
If the shows keep comin’
This old guitar and me are still strummin’
I know you always knew I always took it way too far
But I’m doing alright now Mamma
I’m doing alright now Mamma
I’m doing alright now Mamma
I’m doing ok

You remember the time when I was stuck in L.A.
And I didn’t have a job
And I didn’t have a way to pay the bills that I racked up
Yeah, you kept me from losing my truck
Yeah, I’m a little better off now
Than I was then
But it’s sure nice to see you calling me when
I’m out there on the road
Yeah, you calling to say have a good show

Hey I’m doing alright Mamma
I’m ok, I know your late night talks with Jesus
Have helped me on my way
I know it wasn’t always easy
Raising my father’s son
And your son will be alright
If the shows keep comin’
This old guitar and me are still strummin’
I know you always knew I always took it way too far
But I’m doing alright now Mamma
I’m doing alright now Mamma
I’m doing alright now Mamma
I’m doing ok

As men, we so often lose what it is to understand a woman.. but there’s always that one woman who always understands us. Mama.

So stupid of me. I’m a huge Cody fan and know this song well and still clicked on this one after way too many cocktails and after 2:00 a.m. and now I’m balling, again. Lost my Mom in 2020 in that stupid time period, still haven’t recovered. I really appreciate Cody Jinks.

Me and my momma danced to this song at my wedding. I had her in tears because I sang the whole song in her ear

Cody's living the dream.
I pray to God that one day I'll be fortunate enough to sing a song I wrote for my mom, with my mom, at Red Rocks.
Stevie Ray Vaughan and Cody Jinks have played there so now I must, too 😂

He should record that and put it on an album. I think it's the greatest he thinks that much of his mama.

This song was already awesome to me. But when I found out he brought his mom up to sing, dang someone was cuttin the onions. Great stuff.

Everyone of his albums is worthy. I know because I have ordered them each time that I could. This just makes me smile. Whoever the person is that hit dislike has sadly lost their way. I'll "Cast No Stones" though.

Cody, your music got me through Marine Corps ITB. Your music reminds me of my favorite state, Montana. Can’t stop listening to it
