Sir how long treatement we have to give and when to stop treatement in epilepsy...thanks sir

Since we may not know if the patient had a pseudo-seizure or true seizure before he came to ER because relying solely on caretakers h/o can be misleading when currently in ER patient has no active seizure. So, is it advisable to not just jump to start the actual medicinal treatment (like treatment with lorazepam, fosphenytoin but yes to put patient on recovery position and start O2 for time being) until and unless the ABG findings of lactate or acidosis comes?
