Adam & The Ants - Killer (1979 SGS Demo)

SGS Studio Demo - 30th Oct 1979.
Just Adam & Dave, the other two having been sacked.

I think the only thing retained for ''Killer In The Home'' on 'Kings' is the title refrain. Other than that they are two completely different songs - the SGS demo song eventually mutated into “Navel To Neck” on 'Strip' in 1983, with a very similar melody & at least one line in common; 'You're giving up your daughter(s)'.

I'm now sorting all the demos into a playlist/folder as I add new ones entitled Adam & The Ants - 'Deccadense' - 1970s Demos, Sessions, Etc which can be easily found on my YT homepage, along with other playlists such as ''B-Side Babies (+)'', ''Dirk Wears White Sox LP'', ''Kings Of The Wild Frontier LP'' etc.

Prefer the recorded version but it's always interesting to hear the evolution of tracks. Most demos are the same with different production and maybe a tweak to the lyrics. This is virtually unrecognisable so very interesting why he chose to keep the "Killer in the Home" motif whilst changing everything else. Thanks for this 👍

@wirewehear I'm surprised you say that Leigh Gorman and Matthew Ashman had been sacked by the time this song was recorded. I knew Andy Warren had quit before the LP he'd just played on had even been released and was replaced by Leigh but legend always had it that Barbe, Gorman & Ashman got poached by Malcolm McLaren for his new group - is this not the case?
