Rb picked up a hungry driver. Got all they could out of him. Used him as a shied and now tossing him. No other driver could have played the political game for them as well as Checo did. He was a major reason Max won his first title, he would defend to give max an advantage. Sad that he is going with a tarnished reputation, from both his and RB’s doing.

Max became WDC in the RB20. Checo doesn’t have to be champion but he has to be close with Verstappen’s points tally. Max has 285 more points than Checo, which is only 7 less than Piastri’s points haul (292) this season. That is a glaring gap that cost Red Bull the constructor’s championship.

Red Bull did go backwards with car development as they admitted, but Max drove around those issues. Checo didn’t.

I always take comments from one teammate to another with a pinch of salt, they’re gonna talk them up.

Perez was never the same after he was on pole at the Miami Grand Prix about 2 years ago and Max started dead last. Max came through field and still beat him😮. That’s when there was a mark difference in his attitude and race pace.

Id like to defend Perez. F1 is a cut throat business with a very short memory. We forget how he even got to be in the first place. Remember that drive from the back of the field to win that race in his racing point.... Afxking racing point and I forget the name of the circuit. He's nowhere near as bad as most of us seen to think he is. We all seen to forget that RB's second seat has always been cursed especially with Max at the number 1. I promise you whoever is next at number 2 will suffer the same fate. Maybe they'll even axe him mid season. It's happened before

Hot take: as Pierre gasly doesn’t have a real seat for next year I think Red Bull has an opportunity to put him in one here, he saved alpines season and proved he can compete with the front runners in a much worse car.

Look I agree that Perez doesn’t deserve the seat. But Max is right, people have been really harsh. Let’s not forget that he absolutely crushed it around Baku where Max really struggled in comparison- only to get turned in on by Sainz -, he was driving in low tier points in Qatar and Abu Dhabi too, before mechanical issues and Bottas took them away. Probably about 20 further points robbed in just those races. Plus who knows what his mood would’ve been like if he had have got P3 or even P4 in Baku, could he have used that momentum to reignite a small amount of competition to finish even just P6 sometimes? But it’s the qualifying that’s unacceptable, sure RB lost an edge to be competing regularly for pole, but to be out in Q1 most weekends is simply not good enough. The high pressure environment is making him crumble, time to go to a team like Audi, Williams or Cadillac where he has low expectations and can surprise the world like he did at Racing Point/Force India
