I’ve always just watched for the solvent to leak out the port. I can’t believe I’ve never thought to do the air also.

I know this video is old and but I am really hoping to find some answers. I got a brand new head from a local head shop and I filled the combustion chambers with water, I could visibly see water dripping down through the exhaust and intake. From what I could see every valve was leaking. I messaged the guy and he had told me that it was completely normal for it to fail a water test because the valve spring tension valve needs to reseat? I’m not totally sure what that is but I had both came off of the cylinder head so there should be no tension on the valve springs. Should I send the head back or is it good? The guy told me that I should have no problems with compression and it should pass a leak down test when the head is installed.
