Lionsteel is quickly becoming my new favorite knife company!

Aaron I've been a knife collector and enthusiast for 30+ yrs. Been a subscriber to your chanel around a decade now. Everything from mini folders to swords. I live in NJ and am an electrical contractor who works way too many hrs so I spend my free time in the outdoors. Astetically to the eye I prefer clip point blades at least 5inches. But preferably in the field I do prefer a drop point, flat grind with carbon steel. The knife I used most out of all these yrs was a Becker BK-16 modified over time of course that just seemed to tackle everything I needed. Now I completely rotate, not afraid to scratch up my nice stuff that have been in box in my drawer for yrs. I love em all!!!

I’ve owned this knife for 2 years and agree with your assessment - carry it around the lake house and great compromise between EDC and woodworking capability.

For EDC around my farm and local area I decided to switch to a fixed blade and landed on the Lionsteel B35. I wanted something with the same blade length as the folders I had been carrying. The B35 is small enough that I can wear it anywhere (stores, restaurants, bank, clinic) and it doesn't raise eyebrows. For me, the B40 is a little larger than I want for EDC but a little smaller than I want for camping, in which case I'd probably jump to the T5. I do prefer drop-points and saber or full flat grinds.

I've been at this for over 50 years now, own way too many knives, and have finally locked in my preferences. 4 to 4.5 inch spear point. High saber grind. Broomstick type handle with Micarta scales. High quality stainless, S30V works as an entry point. Pancake style kydex sheath with solid retention and multiple carry options. I use to be all about leather sheaths, but have moved on.

Great rundown, you covered all the main points and are spot on. That said, my Lionsteel M7 is a beast and makes me want more Lionsteel knives. I'll be visiting them at this year's Blade Show to make a selection.

I absolutely love my LionSteel B40. Had you carried the knife longer, you would not have said that the sheath is “ok”.. It’s not. At ALL. After you carry it for about a week, the fit becomes so loose that you cannot sit down without the knife sliding out. I carry my B40 every day.. I switched to a BPS sheath within a month of owning it. The B41 sheath is MUCH BETTER… because of the snap retention.

I have the B41 with orange g10 scales. It's a good knife and definitely worth getting for the price.

I’m still happy with my white river knife and tool Ursa 45 that I’ve had for a few years now it fits my hand great and It hasn’t let me down or wanting more. It pairs well with my white river M1 Pro.

I liked the "ka-bar" style until I got the Silent Hero you recommended. 10 years later it is still my go-to knife. I keep 2 CRKT Free-range hunter in my pack for processing game & food prep, the blade shape, size & stainless steel hollow grind make them better suited for those tasks.

Smart... I like the Sabre Grind too... & the B41 has slightly longer blade (?)... Moletta Heat treatment goes for the Secondary hardening with high temper: Not my choice (No Secondary & Low range temper is better for corrosion & toughness... but he has his manufacturing reasons). I have an M4 from Lionsteel (quasi sabre?) & I like the Benchmade 194's Sabre... good steel, tough enough on a 4 1/3" Blade (very good lateral toughness in a "twist"). Sleipner is a wee bit similar to Cruwear... corrosion is common here: Vancouver Island...

Can you check out the Cabela's Bushcraft belt knife? It's 89 dollars and 5160 steel American made!!! Also the Cabela's Bushcraft chopper also 5160 is bigger, and costs about 120 dollars. Both are American made with the 5160, micarta and come with kydex sheaths!!! They both have saber grinds!!!

For pure practicality outdoors, a drop point is king, especially with a broad blade and a high flat grind or full convex grind.

Glad to see my KaBar check so many boxes.

Looks like it might fit between the SRK, and an A1, in design and cost. Love to see the srk vs this, vs A1 and a bravo ...battle of the belt knives 2024!! 🎉 😂

Best knife video I've ever seen I learned alot from this video I would love to have a B40 like that one but I guess alittle smaller but for a edc I love that B40 knife that is awesome I don't usually gravitate towards a fixed blade because they're too big I like something that's easy to conceal carry this is a great video though im subscribing to you 👍🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸

Since it's a Lionsteel in the video I was wondering during your opinion. I've been thinking of the Lionsteel H2 for my next purchase as a fixed edc. Taking care of the fam takes most of the money so I'd love to hear what you think before I she'll out the cash. Thanks (or I anyone else reads this and would like to share please do!)

I have B41 and not really sure how the differences between B40, they are looks so similar except for the handle design and I love them. Want to try B40 if I have any chance. Thank for informative great review ❤
