No matter how you feel when you hear a song like this early in life, it can't be the same as hearing it many decades later, after you've experienced this kind of thing for yourself. For a song that you loved as a young adult or even as a child to come back to you and capture your own experiences later on, it's chilling. It also shows that almost no experience, no heartache or loss, is so far removed from everyone else that it hasn't been written or sung about before. Humans are imperfect creatures, and new generations can't change that. This song now makes me tear up in a way it just couldn't back when I heard it for the first time all those years ago. Lorrie Morgan sings so beautifully here.

Ahhhh yessss, the 90s. Nothing like it. Even all these years later, Lorrie's voice still gives me chills. I truly believe with the right songs, she could totally come back to the country music scene, and people (who didn't know 90s artists) would just think she's brand new.... her voice is just timeless. My favorite will always be "If You Came Back From Heaven" dedicated to the love of her life, another amazing singer, Keith Whitley. She grieved for such a long time, I just don't think she could ever really revive her career. Not from lack of voice & talent, but from overwhelming emotion she just couldn't control on stage..They were madly in love and just another great one lost too soon. The song is obviously about lovers, but parts of it will always make me think of my 21yr old son that passed away. I haven't heard anything about her in years, but I pray wherever she is, she's happy & at peace. ♡♡
