I'm so happy 😊😊😊 Picarones are delicious and it is a great example of how other cuisines have inserted in our food to the point we see them as 100% Peruvian. Glad you like it. Nowadays, people are adding passion fruit to the syrup. I haven't try that version yet.

My family is peruvian so I do these for them :)These look great but I think you missed an special thing tbh: the syrup should have some fig tree leave, or even figs, or fig flavoring (if that exists?), its a special kind of taste.

You should try Medovik or russian honey cake. It is one of my favorite deserts. Takes a bit to make and easy to mess up in the layers but it’s wellll worth it and if u can find a place that sells it near you. Id consider it a must to try

picarones is not even close to being my favorite sweet, but listen to me, once you eat one, you eat a dozen, you just cannot stop when you start, they have something in their texture and soaked in syrup is just too amazing
